'Brainiac' Likely To Be JUSTICE LEAGUE Villain; Details On BATMAN v SUPERMAN's 'Doomsday'

Forget Man of Steel 2; it sounds like we'll actually see Brainiac make his presence felt in 2017's Justice League movie! Meanwhile, more Doomsday details have been revealed, but how does the origin story of the Batman v Superman villain relate to Bizarro?

There are conflicting reports about the future of the Superman franchise, with some stating that Man of Steel 2 won't come together until the DCEU is fully up and running and others claiming it's set to happen any day now. Which of those will be the case remains to be seen, but it appears as if the information which surfaced about the sequel yesterday is outdated and most likely no longer relevant. Birth.Movies.Death (who have been reliable when it comes to their Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice coverage to date) believes that most of that has now been scrapped as, "every whisper I hear about Justice League contains the word 'Brainiac.' I suspect elements of this story were cannibalized for the eventual team-up as well as BvS, whose main physical threat is, I believe, a cross between traditional Bizarro and another well-known Superman villain."

That villain is Doomsday, a foe the site reiterates will be created from the remains of General Zod by Lex Luthor, something the Comic-Con trailer pretty much confirmed when we saw his body being delivered to LexCorp. This actually harkens back to the comic books as Lex created Bizarro after Infinite Crisis, while Doomsday was brought to life by Kryptonian science. In Batman v Superman, elements from both of those plot points will be touched on when, "Lex creates Doomsday while trying to muck with the genes of Zod's corpse." There are a few other interesting titbits which you can find by clicking on the link below, but what do you guys think about Brainiac being a Justice League villain and this unique take on Doomsday? Be sure to let us know in the usual place...

"Lex creates Doomsday while trying to muck with the genes of Zod's corpse."

Bleh, Doomsday's original origin story is way more interesting.

This is the same rumor we've gotten over the past months. Give us something new.
The rumor did come before the trailer confirmed dead Zod in the movie, so I do believe it, but again, you're repeating stuff.

There's literally nothing about this report that contradicts anything we've seen, heard, or know about this.

But it can't possibly be true, simply because of the name attached to the source article. Ugh.

Doomsday is a character who when considering other DC villains doesn't need much characterization. So backstory can be mucked up, while still making him cool as hell. Brainiac would make sense as a JL Villain, another villain with earth shattering plans for world domination...makes sense the Justice League would fight that together

Can we just get the legion of Doom or some villain team up? we haven't gotten it yet outside of the Xmen movies.

This sucks, I hate everything, blah blah blah...

I've sung this tune before. Trying my best not to care, but i sincerely wish people would stop leaking reports about Man of Steel 2 if the movie isn't going to happen. For f%$#'s sake, how hard is it to get these details straight?

I want to see MoS 2 INFINITELY more than Justice League, and if MoS 2 is happening, then I'll be very, very happy. But if it's not, I'd appreciate it if people would stop getting my goddamn hopes up just for click bait-- because it's just making me more and more pissed off about what we're ACTUALLY getting.

Lex also creates Doomsday in Our Worlds at War storyline using the blood from the original Doomsday.

Maybe it's an imperfect Doomsday clone, which will be defeated in BvS. The real Doomsday might be trapped in the Phantom Zone, and will eventually be released sometime in the future when they decide to do a Death of Superman saga.

Another day, another site attempting to connect the dots and speculating about what's going to happen.

The Dan Patrick Show used a great, funny & applicable quote about rumors & breaking news:
"Fast and wrong, is still fast!"

"I'm starting to think it's better to wait for official confirmation from WB themselves or when the movies actually come out than trusting all these bullshit sources and clickbait articles."

But that's no fun :-)

I would still really like to see Super girl, it just seems out of character for the universe they created, so I guess that means a teen titans movie isn't in the cards(or ever will be) once they get ballsy with things like titans or supergirl, then you can count me as ecstatic, but for now we get broody everything which I'm fine with, it is just that if there is no risk there is no pay off.

Honestly its a given right now the main villain of Justice League will either be Brainiac or Darkseid, and I don't want either.

I want the origin movie to either do the Amazo Virus storyline, have Black Adam as the main villain, Doctor Destiny as the main villain or just for it to be original.

For once, I would like to see a superhero team up movie that doesn't require the group to put their differences aside to fight an alien threat. We had it in Avengers. We had it in Fantastic Four. We've had it in nearly every Marvel film. I want DC to do something different.

Doomsday is a stupid character with a stupid origin. It makes sense that they'd turn to a visually interesting, story-lite character to fight B and S in a pretty stuffed film, but I'm glad they're upgrading his origin.

God. Damn. It.

"It's funny because every now and then someone will touch on something that's kind of true [Zod], but the next thing they say makes me realize that they took a wild guess [Doomsday]. They'll say something and I'll say 'Oh snap, they must have seen the script.'[Zod] And then they'll say, 'And this happens!' [Doomsday] And then I'll go, They have no idea what they're talking about."
