SCOOP: Matthew Goode Met With WB For BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Role
British actor Matthew Goode ("Leap Year"), who played Ozymandias in Watchmen, recently met with Warner Bros. executives about a role in Zack Snyder’s untitled Superman/Batman film.
My source, General Napier, has informed me, Matthew Goode recently had a meeting with Warner Bros. executives to discuss a role in Zack Snyder’s untitled Superman/Batman film. As for which role? That was not disclosed.
In the past, Goode was one of several actors on Warner Bros. shortlist for the role of Superman in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, that eventually went to Henry Cavill ("The Count of Monte Cristo"). And this isn't even the first time Goode's name has been linked to Batman Vs. Superman. Last August, The Hollywood Reporter reported Goode was in contention for the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne, which eventually went to Ben Affleck ("Argo").
Goode previously worked with Zack Snyder on the 2009 adaptation of the classic comic, Watchmen. Currently, the English actor has a recurring role on the CBS hit-drama, The Good Wife.
Snyder will direct the film from a screenplay written by David S. Goyer, from a story co-created by Goyer and Snyder. Zack Snyder’s Superman/Batman film stars Henry Cavill, reprising his role as Superman/Clark Kent, and Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne. The film will also reunite “Man of Steel” stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane, and also stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince.
