BLACK ADAM Star Dwayne Johnson Says He's "Optimistic" About A Potential Marvel Vs. DC Crossover

Dwayne Johnson has big plans for the DC Extended Universe, but he's now admitted in a new interview that he hopes to potentially be involved with some sort of MCU crossover down the line. Check it out!

There's been speculation for years about Dwayne Johnson landing a major superhero role, and he'll finally be given the opportunity with this October's Black Adam

Teth Adam is a character fans have been on board with the actor playing for a long time, and now it's actually happening, it's clear the former pro wrestler has grand ambitions for this corner of the DC Extended Universe. There has already been talks of spinoffs, and Johnson recently pondered the potential of a Marvel vs. DC crossover while speaking with Total Film

"I am optimistic," he said or potentially bringing together the House of Ideas and its Distinguished Competition. "Just my nature is optimistic. And especially when it comes to creative. Especially when it comes to movies. And especially when it comes to the pantheon of DC superheroes and supervillains."

"Across the street, we have the pantheon of superheroes and supervillains of Marvel. To me, they can not only exist, but they should, in my mind, cross paths one day."

We know Johnson has met with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, and he's previously said "never say never" when it comes to a potential crossover. Unfortunately, a whole heap of legal and financial obstacles likely stand in the way of that ever happening, and right now, DC needs that boost way more than the MCU does.

It's a fun idea, anyway, and one that could become a reality somewhere down the line. Heck, perhaps Warner Bros. Discovery will eventually put the DC Universe up for sale, leaving Disney with the opportunity to take charge of all the world's superheroes?

That would be something to see, and we're sure Feige wouldn't be against making a Superman movie considering he started his career working alongside Richard Donner.

What would you guys like to see from a Marvel vs. DC movie?

Won't ever happen.

@marvel72 - Never say never, just like with comics, video games and animation. When, not IF, Marvel runs out of steam.

They are riding high now and you can go so much high until you start falling back.

@marvel72 - Maybe or maybe not. People did say that about X-Men and FF movie rights years ago. In pro wrestling, people thought this would never happen and it yet did...

Although most consider the whole entire WWF "story" that year in 2001 was a disaster. Now thinking about it, I really need to know what The Rock's genuine thoughts about that WWE vs WCW / ECW story... haha.

@marvel72 - If you told me 10 years ago Spider-Man would fight with the Avengers and Daredevil will be in a She-hulk show, I'd laugh in your face.

You never know.

@marvel72 - I think it will, just not in my lifetime or for a couple of generations. But I think it will happen one day.....

Isn't it rumored in the comic book community that they are going to do another versus in the comics soon?

@DevilsAdvocat -

Yeah, but didn't that happen only because one was bought out by the other?

By the time it happens, neither the Rock or any of the current Marvel and DC actors will still be in the movies. We'll see it in ten years when both universes have completely rebooted already.

It's never proven itself to be a good concept. Like a mixture of coke and Pepsi, the crossover would be less appealing than it's individual parts and would likely not satisfy fans of either.... IDK maybe anthologized animated shorts would work
