Following a recent report that Undateable creator Adam Sztykiel was in final negotiations to pen the solo Black Adam movie, star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has confirmed that the writer has officially joined the project.

Johnson sent out the following Tweet earlier tonight, welcoming Sztykiel on board and expressing his excitement to "expand the DC Universe."

Sztykiel has already worked on several projects for New Line; most of 'em comedies such as Spy Guys, Due Date and We’re the Millers 2 - however, The Rock is confident they've found the right man for the job:

There's no director attached just yet, but Black Adam will be produced by Johnson and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions, along with Beau Flynn of the Flynn Picture Company.

The character is currently rumored to make his debut in Suicide Squad 2.

I like his tenacity, and I certainly like that he's respecting the writer, and Dwayne in general has a lot of respect for hard work so it's not surprising, but this movie......I don't feel too strongly in a negative way, but fi they're going to go through the effort in introducing this character they best make sure they give all they got or make sure they get it right before they start production, because it's not like this movie has legitimately big things to be excited about other than the character being cool. Maybe Dwayne will knock it out of the park, maybe we'll get a great director, but so far nothing screams must watch. Even Venom has a director with at least one great movie under their belt and a damn cool cast to boot, but this, we'll have to see, but I do hope it's good.

Nothing he has done is any good, but good screenwriters sometimes write a bad movie and bad screenwriters sometimes just need their break to write a good screenplay. He could surprise.
