There have been rumblings for a while now that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will pit T'Challa's home nation against Atlantis, and Bleeding Cool (who rarely post scoops, but tend to be extremely reliable when they do) has now shared a few fresh pieces of intel. The site reveals we should expect to see Namor the Sub-Mariner, his cousin Namora, and Atlantean warlord Attuma in the sequel.
Apparently, Namor's role will be similar to Black Panther's in Captain America: Civil War, likely to set up a solo outing of his own somewhere down the line.
The site also reiterates previous rumours that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will introduce Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom. They've heard that his presence will be a minor one, likely just to imply that Latveria's leader was responsible for Wakanda and Atlantis squaring off. Marvel Studios has reportedly been working on a costume, so chances are we'll catch at least a glimpse of Victor.
Finally, it's noted that Namor and Namora will not be played by white actors. In fact, the Atlanteans reportedly won't be blue (unlike their comic book counterparts), so this could explain previous reports that Tenoch Huerta is playing Namor. Attuma, meanwhile, is said to have a significant role here.
There's a lot to digest if this is accurate, but the Black Panther sequel is clearly going to be a much bigger movie than we initially anticipated. Doom's rumoured presence is the biggest tease here, though, and this does feel like a good place for him to cement himself as one of the MCU's new big bads. Again, we have heard variations of what's reported here previously, but the site seems confident in their source and the fact a costume has been made for Doom is definitely new information.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrives in theaters on November 11, 2022.
