It's been a slow news day here on CBM, but don't fret, we've scoured the internet to bring you another roundup of Marvel news!
We kick things off with some new comments from Chadwick Boseman on his return to the MCU as T'Challa, before Benedict Cumberbatch weighs in on the possibility of that female-led Marvel movie we keep hearing about actually happening.
We also have another spectacular Blu-ray cover for
Spider-Man: Far From Home, a very intriguing copy of The Daily Bugle that's been spotted in Disneyland, and more Marvel Legends figures which put the spotlight on characters from the comics and the
Spider-Man video game!
There's lots to delve into (did we mention some amazing fan-art showing Henry Cavill as Captain Britain?), so simply click on the "View List" button below in order to check it all out.
Chadwick Boseman Teases Black Panther II
During a recent interview with
Fandango,
Avengers: Endgame star Chadwick Boseman was asked if he could reveal anything at all about
Black Panther II. As you might expect, he chose his words carefully, but made it clear that he knows, well, pretty much everything about the sequel.
"I really don't know how to answer the question without giving anything away. If I didn't know anything, then I'd probably be able to answer the question easily. But since I know so much. [Laughs] I’ve got to stay away from answering lest my tongue slips. But that in and of itself is an answer."
Black Panther II is still a long way off, so chances are he'll be keeping those secrets for a while!
An Amazing Spider-Man: Far From Home Blu-ray Cover
Spider-Man: Far From Home will soon be released on DVD and Blu-ray in Japan, and One-Punch Man artist Yusuke Murata has offered his amazing artistic skills to the Marvel/Sony movie.
As you can see by following the link above, he's offered his own unique take on Spidey's battle with Mysterio on London's Tower Bridge and this should be a must-have for many collectors.
Henry Cavill Becomes Captain Britain
Henry Cavill's time as Superman is seemingly at an end, and just days after fan-art showed up online depicting the actor suited up as Sentry, we now have a unique take on Captain Britain! Far more grounded than the costume from the comic books, it's easy to imagine this working in the MCU.
Honestly, Marvel Studios would be crazy not to scoop up Cavill now he's free from the DCEU, especially after his stellar performance in Mission: Impossible - Fallout. We'll have to wait and see.
Benedict Cumberbatch Supports A Female-Led Marvel Movie
Benedict Cumberbatch hasn't been in the MCU for long but he's still made a huge impact as Doctor Strange. Now, the actor has weighed in on those rumblings about a female-led team-up film.
"Yeah, bring it, why not? There's space for that definitely," he told
BuzzFeed recently.
"We're seeing the rise of the female superhero and why not? It'd be great." So, there's another high-profile supporter for the project and seeing as Elizabeth Olsen is set to take on a leading role in
Doctor Strange in the Madness of the Multiverse, perhaps they can team up to convince Kevin Feige?
Then again, you have to believe he's well aware of the demand for an
A-Force spinoff!
The Suicide Squad's Viola Davis Is A Marvel Fan
Thanks to Martin Scorsese's comments about superhero movies, it seems no one can escape being asked for their thoughts on the genre. Now,
The Suicide Squad star Viola Davis has said,
"I do like a good Marvel movie. I do like a good DC Comics movie." She went on to talk in depth about why all types of films are important, and you can find more on that over at
The Hollywood Reporter.
She went on to note that she's a big fan of the filmmaker's wor,k but despite being part of one of DC's biggest franchises, the acclaimed actress still appreciates the competition! "I think he was voicing his opinion. I think it’s valid," she continued. "Everyone had a place, an opinion. But I like a good Marvel movie." Needless to say, it would be great seeing her join the MCU as well.
The Daily Bugle Spotted In Disneyland
What does this mean...? (Read the top) from r/Defenders
A copy of The Daily Bugle has reportedly been spotted in Disneyland and, as you can see, it references the events of
Avengers: Endgame, takes a shot at Spider-Man, and alludes to heroes like Daredevil and Doctor Strange. Now, in the MCU, we know it's TheDailyBugle.net but Disney must have still allowed this to be featured in one of their theme parts which is definitely interesting.
It may or may not be canon, but there have been rumblings that Kevin Feige wants to keep Daredevil and Jessica Jones in this shared world, so perhaps this is very deliberate. We'll see!
Spider-Man's New Marvel Legends Action Figures
Hasbro has released another wave of Marvel Legends action figures and, as you can see, they'll come bundled with a Build-A-Figure Demogoblin, a character who looks downright amazing here.
It's interesting to see a couple of versions of Spider-Man from last year's video game as well.
Captain Marvel's Brie Larson Keeps Teasing Star Wars
Monday Jedi
A post shared by Brie (@brielarson) on
Brie Larson may be Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the Oscar-winner also has her sights set on another universe...well, Galaxy, Far, Far Away! In her latest Instagram post, Larson has shared a photo of her wielding a lightsaber and it's clear she wants a crack at playing a Jedi.
With any luck, Disney will have the sense to make that happen in the not too distant future.
Ultron's New Form
Avengers: Damage Control is a new VR experience which will be available in The Void. Featuring Earth's Mightiest Heroes facing a resurrected Ultron, the villain will be taking on a massive new form which you can see on the poster above.
Honestly, it's a shame this was wasted on a VR experience rather than a future Marvel movie, because it would have looked phenomenal in live-action.
