Was Black Panther Shortchanged in Captain America: Civil War?

Did Black Panther's portrayal in Captain America: Civil War live up to everybody's expectations? Should he have kicked more butt in his fight scenes with Bucky?

There’s no doubt that Civil War is a great movie and that Black Panther gets some truly awesome moments to shine. But for some of us, his portrayal in the film was a little watered down - particularly in his bouts with Bucky.

So, now the first (amazing) teaser for BP’s solo movie has landed, we decided to revisit the subject. Check out the video below in which we explore T'Challa’s representation in Civil War, using the comics for reference as we go. Only a year late on this one...!

I honestly just don't think the Russos fully understood BP. The biggest offense for me was there casting of T'Chaka. While his acting ability was definitely there, his physical appearance tells me that he probably was no longer the Black Panther. This changed one super important part of the mythos which is that the Black Panther is the warrior AND the king. Separating them takes a lot away from the character in my opinion.

I also think a problem is people think the suit is what enhances him, when really it's only there for added protection and some cool tools really, outside of appearance. He is just as fast and strong without the suit, and while that was kind of shown, I don't think it was fully respected.

@kong - that would take away from his film . they gave just enough to allow you to understand he's about that action..... 2nd yes his body structure is bigger but per the film he needs to be shown being mobile .....we're getting the cool things with the beads etc..... from ryan's direction an first BP ....an i think russo's showed him without the suit giving tws some work .....imo we'll get everything we're looking for his movie
