Scarlett Johansson On The Chances Of Black Widow Turning Up In IRON MAN 3

The Avengers actress discusses the odds of us seeing Black Widow appear in her own solo movie and reveals whether or not she's been contacted by Shane Black to appear in the next instalment of the Iron Man franchise.

Superhero Hype had the chance to catch up with Scarlett Johansson recently and asked the actress outright what the chances are of us seeing her star as Black Widow in her own spin-off movie. "I love playing the Widow. I think she's got a very interesting past, a lot of storylines to explore, and certainly Kevin (Feige) loves that character," she said. "I think that Marvel has a very personal relationship with their fans, and I think if the fans want it, and the audience wants it, nothing's impossible. I would love to explore that option as well. Like I said, I love the character and it would be nice to see something nice and gritty."

Of course there's still the rumoured S.H.I.E.L.D and Hawkeye spin-off's that Black Widow could feature in, but looking to a movie which HAS been confirmed, what of a possible appearance in Iron Man 3? "I've heard nothing," Johansson revealed. "You know how it goes. Sometimes two days before, it's like 'And here's your next mission.' I have no idea." Maybe a Hawkeye and Black Widow movie, maybe. Ant man needs to be included in the next Avengers, not his own movie. I'd like to see the villain get their own movie one time just to see how it would be done.

I really don't mind her as Black Widow...She is a good actress, but just needs the correct script.

I agree with @headlopper...She should keep playing BW...just don't complain, because it is an honor to play a character as great as Black Widow!

Most of the comments I am seeing are so pathetic and sexist its ridiculous. Give this female character and actress the same amount of respect that you would give any of the male Avengers and their actors. This is above and beyond pathetic to see almost an entire page of perverted comments like this. Everything that is being said here non of you would dare say it to her face because you know not only could she kick your ass but everyone of her Avengers co-stars would drop your ass like a bad habit.

She should not complain about all the hard work it takes to play Black Widow(in the other article posted earlier) Its her job, acting and whatever else she need to do(walking up early, working out, training). Thats why she gets paid.

I still think shes a great actress and plays a great Black Widow, minus her normal American accent.

She looks the part, she plays the part respectably, and she performs the stunts required well. I say, congrats, SJ. We need to stop expecting authentic accents for characters; most of the time, they don't even try to include them. For example:

1)Norwegian Gods rollin' out with the Queen's English(with Thor occasionally slipping into his native Australian
2)An American Banshee
3)An American Colossus
4)A phoned in, half-assed attempt at Storm's accent, abandoned after the first X movie
5)An American Emma Frost(I could be talkin' outta my ass on that one. I've not always followed the 'X' books, but, thought she was British. That could be because Finola Hughes played her on Gen Next)

The ONE they've nailed spot-on so far has been Nightcrawler. Alan C. knocked that one outta the park.

But, I think the 'accent in a movie" award has to go to Ron Pearlman in, "City of Lost Children(not a CBM, but, don't kill me)". He's an American actor playing a Russian speaking French with a Russian accent. That's just badass.

@tweeeeenkies3- Acting is cake work. These people are catered to hand and foot. Everything is free for them while filming. They've got free health insurance up the ying-yang while filming, not to mention a million perks AND maybe an Academy Award which comes with a gift basket worth hundreds of thousands of dollars! Then there's everybody and their mother who want to take them out to restaurants and on vacations all expenses paid by the host. They're invited to all these cool parties and get to hang out with sexy people like fashion models and such.

This chick better keep her mouth shut about what little she has to do for the role! She makes in ONE movie what the average person will NEVER make in a lifetime, and she has the nerve to complain because she has to work out and can't eat a box of do-nuts wherever she wants! Better be grateful she's got a job, and is good at it cuz' other's, like you said, would kill for that role.

These Hollywood types got it real easy!

It is horrible. She can't enjoy her time actually working on such a huge movie, that will most likely get her more roles...I wish a more grateful actress got the role honestly.
An actress who would not complain because it reaches a high point in their career. Not this woman who thinks her face, tits, and ass will get her everything.

I'm sure actresses like Elena Satine who aren't well known would have cried in joy if they got the role. Lord knows she tried her best to get the role. Yet, this complainer got it.

As much as I would like to respect her, and like her...I lost it all.

I have not heard her complain once, and if she did so what, who are half of you to tell anyone not to complain if its a valid reason behind it or legit concern. She is beautiful and I would love to see her in her own black widow movie. Not one of you determine the destiny of this fine ass chick, so if shes lobbying herself for better parts in movies so [frick]ing be it. you guys will put people down the second you hear a rumor that they griped, Scarlet do your thing! forget the haters and do your thing, you go girl!!!

@thegamedrex...She said she was tired of having to take care of her hair, and keeping it red. And was tired of getting up every morning, and being told what to do on set, and ow to take care of her body.

If she was truly a fan of playing this beloved character, she would not complain about playing her.

I don't mind her as Black Widow. I like her in the role. But, if she complains, who will want her in movies? Look what happened to Megan Fox. She complained about multiple directors and working on set, now no one wants her.
