Dwayne Johnson has confirmed that filming on Black Adam has been pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it doesn't sound like the production will suffer too significant a delay.

Cameras were originally set to start rolling this July, but the Hobbs and Shaw star now says that New Line's DC Comics adaptation will begin shooting later in the summer.

"We plan on shooting probably at the end of summer now," Johnson revealed during a Twitter Q&A. "Probably pushed maybe into August, maybe September."

"I have been training so hard for months and months and months for Black Adam," he added. "And that is a passion project for me. It is a role that I hold near and dear to my DNA. So, I can't wait."

Is Johnson being a little optimistic with that August/September prediction? One would hope that things will have returned to some sense of normalcy by then, but it's impossible to tell for sure.

At any rate, Black Adam is still currently set to hit theaters on December 22, 2021. We recently shared some details on two scripted scenes involving JSA members and Teth Adam's lover Adrianna Tomaz/Isis, which you can find more on right HERE.

Hopefully, Jumanji 3 and Hobbs & Shaw 2 take away Johnson's attention, I think Birds of Prey killed any enthusiasm for actor-led passion projects.

Really hope he channels his characters from Walking Tall and Faster (His best dramatic role for me) and less of just being himself, even though I do like him.
Liked Shazam so I do have hope

DC really has to stop giving movies to characters that do not warrant solo films. Hollywood in general needs to stop making movies about villains.

Movies about villains without heroes do not work. Venom sucked. Joker sucked. Morbius will suck.

You need a confident director to wrangle these conceited stars into submission, I'm anticipating a clash of "creative differences" sometime in the near future..
