THUNDERBOLTS Team Rumored To Include BLACK WIDOW's Olga Kurylenko As Taskmaster

We wondered if and when we'd see Taskmaster again following her MCU debut in Black Widow, and a new rumor points to Olga Kurylenko reprising the role for the upcoming Thunderbolts movie...

We recently learned that Marvel Studios is currently developing a Thunderbolts movie, and we may now have our first confirmed team member.

Though this should be treated as a rumor for the time being, scooper Daniel Richtman is claiming that Olga Kurylenko is set to reprise the role of Taskmaster, aka Antonia Dreykov, for the upcoming MCU film. The former villain made her debut in Black Widow as a formidable adversary of Natasha Romanoff's (Scarlett Johansson), but we later discovered that she was being controlled by her ruthless father (Ray Winstone).

Antonia left with Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) and the other Widows, and we haven't heard anything from or about her since.

We don't have much else to go on, but we know the movie will follow the comics by revolving around "a group of supervillains (or at least characters who have played bad guys at one point in MCU) who go on missions for the government," so Taskmaster's involvement wouldn't come as a major surprise.

Which other characters end up on the roster remains to be seen, but we assume this is the group Valentina Allegra de Fontaine began to put together in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. If so, John Walker/U.S. Agent is a safe bet, with Baron Zemo, Abomination, and Yelena Belova/Black Widow strong possibilities.

In the comics, the Thunderbolts were originally introduced as a new superhero team who stepped in when the Avengers were declared dead after the events of Onslaught, but it was soon revealed that they were actually the Masters of Evil in disguise. Ultimately, most members of the team reformed for real, and did their best to become a force for good

Jake Schreier (Robot and Frank, Dave) is set to direct, with Black Widow scribe Eric Pearson penning the script.

I like her as an actress, but I'm still hoping Tony Masters dons the mantle eventually.

@ModHaterSLADE - I just realized Antonia might be a reference to that name. But maybe I'm giving them to much credit.

Antonia Masters has a nice ring to it though.

I guess it makes sense for her to be oart of team. Val recruited Walker and Yelena too in similar manner, so why not her as well?

Wonder who we'll see more though. I'm hoping for Walker, Yelena, Antonia, Zemo, Leader, Abomination or Titania (depending on She-Hulk's outcome), Ghost, White Vision, Hammer and/or Songbird.

@bkmeijer1 - I'd like to see Black-Ant (Eric O'Grady) on the team. Perhaps in a possible sequel.

Bill Burr would be perfect to play O'Grady.

Makes sense and I would like to see her return here. Flesh her character more around these other questionable-ish set of characters that come together for a supposed noble cause.

I still remember all those idiots getting fake mad over her stunt double being a dude. There were a lot of incredibly dumb complaints about Black Widow (namely that the villain was a riff on Harvey Weinstein, which really might have been the MOST foolish complaint) but this was always the most embarrassing one

I think her Taskmaster being a member of the team gives them another tank, and also gives them a good Hawkeye/Black Panther stand in

Hopefully this means they'd also go with a suit less more amored and more sleak
