A recent update to the official site for Marvel's much-anticipated Captain America: The First Avenger film has revealed ten awesome new character wallpapers. Offering a new desktop-worthy look at the Howling Commandos, Hydra goons, Bucky, as well the Captain himself, check out the wallpapers below. Captain America: The First Avenger focuses on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes and Peggy Carter to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull. Starring Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Atwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Stanley Tucci and Hugo Weaving, the film releases July 22, 2011.

Slightly off topic - but just trying to piece together a MCU timeline so using canon sources.

Does anyone know where or when The Incredible Hulk: The Fury Files takes place? All I know so far is that it takes place before the events of the film.

I dont know whether Im 100% sold on Chris Evans as Captain America yet... I just can't put my finger on why... I like the guy and I'm genuinely pleased for him, but... I dont know... maybe he's too young? Nah, thats not it... I dont know. Like i said, I cant put my finger on it but its just a niggling doubt...
Hopefully I'll be proven wrong, and even as an English man with limited Cpt America knowledge, I'm really looking forward to this...

You have just described the 'Hero's Journey' A kind of narrative template that applies pretty much to most mythic stories from the dawn of time. A guy called Joseph Campbell spent his life researching it.

If you look back at some of the big tales you will see exactly that template - and of course Lucas used it to write Star Wars.

Wizard of Oz, Lord of the Rings, Clash of the Titans, etc, etc they all do it.

@intruder True...A lot of movies have a story revolve around the "Warriors journey" Look at the matrix & Harry Potter for example. A young reluctant hero is guided to a adventurous path by an older wiser man, relentlessly pursued by a dark agent of evil.

@Intruder - Joseph Campbell used to study the path of the hero archetype, I believe there's a documentary about it, he refers Star wars, LotR and other mythos, and those elements you referred (quest, willing hero, teacher/master, etc) are all there.

The first one is cool. A little derivitive of The Dark Knight with the welding sparks. The flag in the background makes it look like a 9/11 memorial.

Howard Stark looks like he's fondling his Jericho missile down there.

Anyone wanna photoshop black aviator goggles over bucky's face to replace the mask (which I get is campy). I wanna know what it would look like. Isn't his suit blue in the movie?

Aren't the Howling Commandos all recruited from different braches? (And in Falsworth's case, a different nation.) They should have varying uniforms.
