CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Starts Shooting In 2 Weeks; First Synopsis Revealed

A casting call for extras has gone out for Anthony Russo & Joe Russo's Captain America: Civil War, and it mentions a shoot date of April 1st. There's also a brief synopsis which suggests the movie will follow at least one particular plot point from the comic to the letter...

According to Collider, a Captain America: Civil War casting call for extras in the Atlanta area has gone out and is seeking "many ethnicities", for a shoot date of April 1st. With a May 6th release date scheduled we figured production would have to be commencing pretty soon, but I don't think anyone predicted it'd be quite this soon.

Anyway, on to the good stuff! With the casting notice was our first brief synopsis ( of a sort) for the movie, and it confirms that the story will be based around the Superhero Registration Act from Mark Millar's comic series. This isn't a massive revelation of course, but we expected quite a few changes to the source material so it's nice to know that this element, at least, will carry over to the screen.

"Following the events of Age of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies."

Captain America: Civil War will star Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Anthony Mackie as Falcon, and Jeremy Renner; with a lot more characters -- including Spider-Man -- rumoured to appear. It's also a safe bet Daniel Brühl will be playing Baron Zemo, but we'll have to wait and see.

I guess we will know pretty soon then who the next Spiderman is?? Or are they really going to be ballsy and try to film the hole film withouth people knowing who it is (which i think will be impossible in this day and age)

I'm sure in certain territories this will be called just Civil War, with Marvel branding and promotion to make audiences realize. Previous Cap films have gone by either their sub-titles in some foreign territories, so The First Avenger and Winter Soldier. So for some people, this will basically be Marvel's Civil War.

But in the end, it's being written and framed as Cap's story, which I'm happy about. In an event as large and complicated as this, we need a certain POV - somebody to root for.
