Elizabeth Olsen Talks CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR And Praises Daniel Brühl As "Main Villain"

"I think it's going to be the best," said Elizabeth Olsen when asked about reprising her Avengers: Age of Ultron role as the Scarlet Witch in Captain America: Civil War.

When Elizabeth Olsen visited France earlier this week to promote her new film and to be honored at the Deauville Film Festival, Premiere.fr had asked the rising Avengers: Age of Ultron star about returning as Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch in next year's Captain America: Civil War.
"I think it's going to be the best one," the actress enthused. "For real, I am like very excited to see it myself. I only worked on set for five weeks, so I wasn't there for the majority of it."

Olsen then casually offered praised for her Civil War co-star Daniel Brühl, who plays Baron Zemo in the movie. "Brühl is an incredible actor and he's playing the main villain in it," she assured. "And he's incredible! It's a movie about people as opposed to robots this time. So it's darker and it's allowed to be darker because it gets more in the mindset of humans rather than machines."

Earlier during the interview, Elizabeth Olsen was asked about playing the Scarlet Witch and being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "She's someone who's more powerful than she's able to control and she ends up going insane because of it," she said of her mutant character. "And she's like a wildcard. You never know [if] she's a hero or a villain and that's a very fun part."

Elizabeth Olsen continued, "Being part of a Marvel movie makes me feel like I'm doing the most top secret thing in the world. It's ridiculous because it's a film, but also it's too bad when people want to spoil things about movies or paparazzi are on set taking pictures of certain things. And everyone then gets to guess what it is that you're filming. And it ruins it for everyone. I was just so happen that in Avengers [Age of Ultron] we were able to keep a lot of things secret so there were surprises for the audience which is great." Watch the interview and share thoughts below!

Directed by Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain. Starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Martin Freeman, Captain America: Civil War is set for release on May 6, 2016.

Why didnt the reporter aske her why she wasnt on the those official pics of the teams?
And I dont like it at all that Zemo will be the main villain or that Black Panther has a major role in it. It just seems like the story will be too "unfocused".

Wait are we going to see an insane Wanda??? Similar to her House of M depiction where she just lost it...

oooooo glad to here praise for Zemo. Bruhl is such a good actor. I think the Russos will give us the MCU'S best villian yet. They made Robert Redford such a cool villian who was more of a mental adversary than physical. And WINTER soldier was a force. Russos do villains well.

Very important things taken away from this interview is that she's actually giving away details (even though we already knew Wanda would basically lose it) This leads us to assume that she could possibly be the main reason why the registration act comes into play. However, her claims of not being in the film for too long make me wonder what was going on in the video when they were all charging at Tony and Rhodes.

It's also very interesting to know that Zemo will be the main villain here. I wonder how they'll be able to tie that into the film? Maybe it's he that causes Wanda to lose it.

A little uneasy about the idea of the movie having a "main villain" since a lot of the appeal of Civil War is that it's probably the most morally gray Marvel conflict. Keeping an open mind though since there's no way they could really do the comic version of Civil War. It's gotta me its own version of the story and if it works as that, I'll be satisfied.

The shade to Age of ultron, lol.

But she's right, Civil War seems much more promising/interesting as a film, script wise

The best thing about this Olsen sister is that she's cool with nudity.

Now, I feel like avoiding all trailers and speculation and being sincerely surprised when I watch this in the Theatre

They better mention Quicksilver too, if their not bringing him back, which would suck, they should at least have his death mean something for Wanda

He was her brother, his death needs to mean something to her and the rest of the Avengers. I'm guessing this will play out with Hawkguy's kid, idk

Still hoping we see Quicksilver again, damn you Whedonnnn

Yeah, that whole no "dark turns" interview with Feige is really odd, imo

With Civil War, Doctor Strange, etc, they have to go a little darker, I think. Iron Man 1 is still probably my favorite MCU movie, Winter Soldier second. The MCU rocks, but I would love to see some "dark turns"

The Extremis story would have been absolutely amazing with some "Dark Turns"

@Omarvls

That's what i'm saying.

Marvel's 2016 year instantly has a 6/10 with Daredevil and Cage releasing next year, all Civil War and Doctor Strange have to do is continue that monumental success. It's going to be a terrific year for them next year. Glad to finally see some big changes. Hoping for the best.
