Marvel Overshadows The DC Films Universe In This Year's Critics Choice Awards Nominations

The nominations are in for this year's Critics Choice Awards, and Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange lead the charge. However, the DC Films Universe has not fared anywhere near as well.

Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange were hits with critics and moviegoers alike, and that's reflected in the number of nominations they've received at this year's Critics Choice Awards. Deadpool has also done well, but what about the DC Films Universe? Well, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad have only one each compared to the nine in total scored by the two Marvel Studios mentioned above. However, perhaps the biggest loser is X-Men: Apocalypse. That movie has none!

Doctor Strange leads the way with six nominations, and those are Best Hair & Makeup, Best Visual Effects, Best Action Movie, Best Actor in an Action Movie - Benedict Cumberbatch, Best Actress in an Action Movie - Tilda Swinton, and Best Sci-Fi/Horror Movie. That's an extremely impressive list!

Captain America: Civil War meanwhile is up for Best Action Movie, Best Actor in an Action Movie – Chris Evans, and Best Actress in an Action Movie - Scarlett Johansson. Deadpool has four nods, with nominations for Best Action Movie, Best Actor in an Action Movie - Ryan Reynolds, Best Comedy, and Best Actor in a Comedy - Ryan Reynolds. Unfortunately, Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad were only recognised with Best Actress in an Action Movie for Gal Gadot and Margot Robbie.

What do you guys think of the nominees? The winners will be announced on December 11th.

All well deserved for nominations, especially Tilda as The Ancient One, she was awesome and really close to my favorite character, tied with Benedict's Strange.

" Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad were only recognized with Best Actress in an Action Movie for Gal Gadot and Margot Robbie."

Wasn't Wonder Woman CGI'ed during actual fighting and only towards the end of the movie for like what 5 mins.? And she only read email yet still got recognized?
