CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER Rumored To Feature MCU Debut For New Falcon

A new rumour suggests Danny Ramirez's Joaquin Torres will suit up as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Falcon in Captain America: New World Order, but how much will he differ from his comic book counterpart?

This won't be the first time you've heard this rumour, but a reliable insider is claiming Danny Ramirez will indeed suit up as the MCU's new Falcon in Captain America: New World Order

We first met the character in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, but despite clearly being one of Sam Wilson's closest allies, he was pretty much a non-factor in the series. Fans suspected his introduction might be a way of laying the groundwork for something bigger down the line, and the hero suiting up in the next Captain America movie makes sense.

However, it will be very interesting to see how Marvel Studios handles that.

In the comic books, Joaquin was a Mexican immigrant who cared for undocumented migrants crossing the border into America. That led to him being targeted by the Sons of the Serpent, with the villainous Malus then experimenting on the teen to create more than a mere costumed Falcon.

When his DNA was spliced with Sam's psychic falcon, Redwing, Joaquin grew wings and talons and gained bird-like senses along with various other superpowers.

On the one hand, it seems likely Marvel Studios will give Ramirez's character a costume and have him join Sam in battle as the new Falcon. On the other, with The Leader set to make his return in Captain America: New World Order, can we discount the possibility that he'll conduct experiments on Joaquin to create a very different Falcon for the MCU?

We'll see what happens, but this is shaping up to be a jam-packed movie and one that could set the stage for all manner of spin-offs.

Captain America: New World Order is set to be released in theaters on May 3, 2024.

Maybe it's just me, but I really don't buy into ''a reliable insider says...''.

Might as well conjure this up out of thin air. Which may as well be the case already, since it doesn't take a genius to figure out Joaquin is gonna become the new Falcon.

So is there a reason the air force stopped making these suits and now only 1 person can use them? Why isn't there an army of Falcon's flying around when all it is is a suit with wings and a jet pack. Why don't all the Avengers that can't fly have one too? Also how does Sam throw and use Cap's shield when he's not a super-soldier? If he can use one and one is incredibly useful for both offense and defense then why doesn't Wakanda'a army have them for every soldier? Why would Sam discard his nickname to take another hero's and why would a random dude start calling himself the Falcon and want to take Sam's old identity instead of being an individual with his own? Why are all the hero's now going to be hand-me-down identities instead of their own unique ones?

@WarMonkey - While the tv show was called "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" I'm ALMOST positive he's never actually called Falcon in world. He was always Sam. So he's Not giving up anything and no one is taking a name that existed already, in world.

I feel like they wouldn't have ended his arc in FATWS with Sam giving him his old wings to repair just for him to be experimented on and grow actual bird wings in his next appearance in what is already looking set to be a very busy movie with a lot of wheels turning. Maybe somewhere down the line, like a few movies/phases in he'll get superpowers of some sort to distinguish him a bit more from Sam, but doing it in Cap 4 would be a really strange choice.

It makes more since for this guy to become a mutant and get his powers that way.

Although I'm more hyped about a potential secret wars soft reboot after secret wars with new takes on the characters.

Feels like this is ramping up the superhuman arms race and I really hope the "miracle metals" factor into this too. Specifically the rumors about adamantium making its MCU debut in this film, as a counter to vibranium (i.e., something that can cut through it or defend against it). A post-credits scene featuring Weapon X (or Weapon Plus) would be awesome, as they were really creating super assassins capable of killing super soldiers in that program. So it would seem to fit well here.
