CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Keyframe Concept Art Focuses On Key Moments And Unfilmed Scenes

An incredible new batch of Captain America: The Winter Soldier concept art has found its way online today and these keyframes highlight moments which made it into the film...and some which actually didn't!

Feature Opinion

In 2014, Marvel Studios released Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy, two movies which changed the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever. In the case of the former, the Russo Brothers brought a whole new style of action to the genre and put Steve Rogers on a path that is still playing out to this very day.

Now, some rarely seen pieces of keyframe concept art from the movie have found their way online.

There are some great shots here, including Cap's fight with the titular villain, that museum looking back at Steve's World War II adventures, and even some featuring scenes which ultimately didn't make the final cut or weren't filmed by the Russos.

We'll have much more from the movie
for you in the coming weeks but for now, all you guys have to do is hit the "View List" button below to check out this awesome round of concept art.

Steve Rogers squares off with The Winter Soldier here unaware that he's fighting his best friend. This knife fight went a long way in putting the Russo Brothers - and this movie - on the map.

With S.H.I.E.L.D. turning on Captain America, Steve was forced to go on the run and this awesome shot shows the star-spangled Avenger busting his way out of the Triskelion in Washington D.C.

A shot from Captain America and Black Widow's attack on the hijacked ship, this piece of artwork shows the hero in action but it's worth noting that he has his regular coloured shield here.

Chris Evans has gone on record to say that the suit from The Winter Soldier is his favourite and that could explain why the actor is wearing it (for the final time?) in Avengers: Endgame

Fadi8nuy o

That's clearly supposed to be Steve wearing the suit but I'm not entirely sure what's supposed to be happening here or where it would have fit into the movie. Let the speculation commence!

Apparently, The Winter Soldier was originally going to kick off with a flashback to the events of World War II in order to flesh out the relationship between Steve and his old pal Bucky Barnes.

Instead, the movie took us to a museum and showed Steve reflecting on his past as Captain America and the friends he lost when he was trapped in ice and ultimately woken up in the present day.

Eocropdg o

Another piece of artwork depicting that scrapped flashback, it would have been awesome fun seeing The Howling Commandos again as they raced into battle presumably against HYDRA.

More displays from that museum exhibit, either one of these would make for an incredible poster and it's a real shame that Marvel Studios doesn't release stuff like this as props for fans to buy.

Steve was horrified to see just how many weapons S.H.I.E.L.D. was constructing but speculation is running rampant that the organisation will return to the MCU after Avengers: Endgame

The Winter Soldier takes aim at Steve's apartment here as he attempts to take out Nick Fury, seemingly unaware that the man with the S.H.I.E.L.D. Director is actually his one-time best friend.

A great shot of Bucky catching Cap's shield, Marvel Studios and the Russo Brothers did a great job bringing the character to life on the big screen even if it didn't include the Cosmic Cube.

An alternate take on the fallout from Steve and Natasha's confrontation with the robotic Arnim Zola, the hero carries an unconscious Black Widow away from the wreckage of this old base.

It's still hard to believe that Robert Redford starred in a Marvel movie, especially now he's giving up acting. This shot of him talking to The Winter Soldier is very cool and looked great in the film.

The Falcon played a key role in The Winter Soldier's final act and these pieces of artwork show him flying through the air and coming to blows with Brock Rumlow as a falling Helicarrier approaches!

Captain America plunges into the water as the falling Helicarriers crash to the ground. Moments later, Bucky would redeem himself by saving his old friend before going on the run from HYDRA.

An awesome shot of The Winter Soldier, you have to hope that we'll get even more flashbacks of him in action as Marvel Studios barely scratched the surface with the character's history.

I remember coming out of the theatre in awe and felt an overwhelming need to go back and see it again. Not too many movies had made me feel that way.

This is on the MCU Mount Rushmore. Nearly flawless.
AND the best Natasha’s hair has ever looked.

My ONLY gripe with Cap and Steve Rodgers...is that his storyline just moved too fast (mainly because he needed to get to modern day and due that whole Avengers thing!)

BUT I think there was enough story and quality characters to have a Trilogy all Set in the WW2 Era.

This movie is my favorite of the MCU. So many other great ones so it is hard to choose just one. The elevator fight scene alone was just unreal. I love everything about it and the tone change was top notch. I might have to watch this tonight now.

The Cap speech before the last big showdown... Made me want to go kick some Hydra ass right along side him. Evans solidified himself on the MCU Mount Rushmore & passed Tony as my personal fave.
