Georges St-Pierre ‘Batroc the Leaper’ Wraps Filming On CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

While Captain America star Chris Evans tweets about sharing a scene with Georges St-Pierre, the Batroc the Leaper martial artist has confirmed that he’s completed filming for The Winter Soldier!

By DCMarvelFreshman - Apr 24, 2013 09:04 AM EST

Promoting his first book last night, martial artist Georges St-Pierre visited UFC Tonight where he briefly discussed his first movie role, Georges Batroc, in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
“I’m done filming, I was there for a week. It was a lot of fun I made a lot of new friends. My character is a French mercenary, speaks French, a martial arts expert of Savate, [and an] Olympic lifting champion. A little bit like a guy who can jump really high and stuff. The character fit me well. My new look [rigt now] was for the Captain America movie, I just molded it a bit different than my character was a week ago. [During filming] it looked much more sinister.”

Given that Georges St-Pierre only completed a week’s worth of filming, we should assume Batroc the Leaper will not feature heavily in Captain America: The Winter Soldier; there’s much more filming that will occur in Cleveland, Ohio as well as Washington, DC. We can also assume that Chris Evans is among the aforementioned “friends” that Georges gained during the production; last week, the Captain America star tweeted: “I fought GSP last night. What would normally have resulted in a trip to the emergency room, was actually an amazing experience. GREAT guy!”

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” picks up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014. In addition to “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on other iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Thor: The Dark World ” on November 8, 2013; “Guardians of the Galaxy” on August 1, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

@Dinotron O yea, my main worry is that he is such an in shape dude (looks like a real life cap) he will make Evans look too small..

@Godzillafart ISPs tend to flush IPs based on time schedule, and some services allow people to keep their IP dynamic based on were they enter n like little private tunnel, so its harder then you would think.

Well, you never know what amount of film time that is. I suspect that he will not feature heavily in this movie. But whole tv episodes are filmed in less than a week. We know there will be a fight scene but maybe if GSP does well, he may be featured more in Cap 3.

True...a week is actually pretty good, especially if their setups are quick. He could be in a third of the movie.

I'm so excited for this movie. If only there was a way to show the Howling Commando's again, although they're dead now.

Maybe we'll see a prequel set in the war sometime, hell even a one shot

@ParisSun Your probably right...I figure 2-3 scenes, w/ one action. Short intro scene (background muscle guy), Flex Scene (beats up a few SHIELD agents), and then fights Cap...OR maybe Falcon...

I've heard there's going to be a huge rivalry between Crossbones and Winter Soldier... If so, I'd love an intense and suspenseful, third act, hand-to-hand fight scene between Cap, Bucky and Crossbones. Reminiscent to the final fight in The Raid. But larger in scale obviosuly.

Still no word of Baron Zemo or Alexander Lukin.

I wonder are the villains just going to be Winter Soldier, Crossbones and Batroc?

Oh and Arnim Zola.

Random question:

Is there a reason why the MCU Phase 2 movies don't have the Marvel Studios logo in the start of their movies and trailers?? They seem to only have the Marvel logo, minus the 'Studios' bit.
