Georges St-Pierre ‘Batroc the Leaper’ Wraps Filming On CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER
While Captain America star Chris Evans tweets about sharing a scene with Georges St-Pierre, the Batroc the Leaper martial artist has confirmed that he’s completed filming for The Winter Soldier!
Promoting his first book last night, martial artist Georges St-Pierre visited UFC Tonight where he briefly discussed his first movie role, Georges Batroc, in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
“I’m done filming, I was there for a week. It was a lot of fun I made a lot of new friends. My character is a French mercenary, speaks French, a martial arts expert of Savate, [and an] Olympic lifting champion. A little bit like a guy who can jump really high and stuff. The character fit me well. My new look [rigt now] was for the Captain America movie, I just molded it a bit different than my character was a week ago. [During filming] it looked much more sinister.”
Given that Georges St-Pierre only completed a week’s worth of filming, we should assume Batroc the Leaper will not feature heavily in Captain America: The Winter Soldier; there’s much more filming that will occur in Cleveland, Ohio as well as Washington, DC. We can also assume that Chris Evans is among the aforementioned “friends” that Georges gained during the production; last week, the Captain America star tweeted: “I fought GSP last night. What would normally have resulted in a trip to the emergency room, was actually an amazing experience. GREAT guy!”
