Henry Jackman sat down with Comicbook and discussed how and what he did to come up with the music we heard in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, "That was a real challenge -- to come up with melodic and lyrical material that you need to be triumphant and you need to be in keeping with a superhero aesthetic," He then adds, "But placing it in a context where it feels contemporary and doesn't feel like you're harking back to a different era."

He then told what one of his main challenges was while composing the music and also told how he related the character’s personality to the music he was making, "That was an interesting challenge -- also some of the adversaries. I did something really, really radical for the Winter Soldier because when I first looked at the footage, I was like, he's a kind of mechanized, crazy, violent, unstoppable, rampant kind of half-being. I remember thinking to myself I don't want it to be just an orchestral piece of music.”

He then gets more in depth on what he did to make the Winter Soldier’s main theme in the film and how he thought he should do something radical. “I said, ‘I should make a record of the Winter Soldier's theme -- just a six-minute record. I should do something radical and just see what they say.’ It may not stay like that, but at least if I do that I'll come up with a musical identity for the Winter Soldier that's a long way from the expected and the orchestrally sort of generic."

How did you like Henry Jackman’s music In Captain America: The Winter Soldier? Do you think he should compose any future Marvel films? Sound off below with your thoughts!

It wasn't a necessarily memorable score, but it was pretty good.

It was a welcome change in the MCU. That being said, I did miss Alan Silvestri at some points in the movie.

The Winter Soldier's theme was so sick

A lot of people hated it but I loved it. It didn't sound like a typical score. It was different, more lethal in a sense.

I liked that they used Cap's original theme in the beginning of the movie. But other than that, nothing too special about this score. I personally find Guardians' score to be the best so far in Phase 2. Avengers' theme was hands down, the best in Phase 1.

Yeah, The Winter Soldier's actual theme was a nice change of pace, and I LOVED the musical callbacks to The First Avenger...but otherwise, the score was pretty forgettable. So far, the best score in any Marvel movie has been Iron Man, and I have no idea why they dropped that in the sequels (Iron Man 3 has a very brief callback to it, but that was it). The First Avenger was memorable, The Avengers fit the movie perfectly, Iron Man 3 was awesome...but the rest leave a whole lot to be desired.

This is my favorite track, when this theme played during the scene when Cap jumped from the Shield headquarters (guessing) 100th floor I got chills...

I thought the best score was The Winter Soldier's Theme. I mean just listening to the mechanized work during the song, made you feel like this guy was unstoppable and dangerous. I still get chills listening to it and able to imagine Winter Soldier causing havoc in the middle of Washington DC. The short but subtle Smithsonian Museum score was emotionally driven.

Funny enough, I think the best song from The Winter Soldier wasn't even in the movie in the first place. It was the music from the 2nd trailer for the movie. It just fit the character of the Winter Soldier PERFECTLY.
