In the course of the Super Bowl 2014-promotion for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel released a bunch of new character stills.

See what Scarlett is sporting around her neck?



A closer look reveals a very special kind of treat for fans of Johansson's Black Widow and Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye.



A necklace that can't be mistaken for anything but an arrow, hints to the strong established connection between Romanoff and Renner's Clint Barton. Hawkeye remains the only of the 6 original team members in the first The Avengers movie, without a phase 2 appearance so far.

Fans of the two highly skilled S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were very happy about this small but important detail. A posting on the social platform tumblr sporting the according picture, received more than 40.000 likes and reblogs within half a day.

Sorry, this means nothing as far as romance goes. They obviously have a strong connection because of their history so I would imagine there is some type of sentiment. All talk and hints point toward Cap and Widow. It is sweet of her to have that though.

Just for clarification: the mention of the word "romance" was not in my original article, as there is no way yet to be sure, this is indicated with the jewel. Personally, I prefer to speak of a further established character connection until we've seen the movie. But since the editors of the page changed it, it's not in my place to change it back.
