The actor, who was initially reluctant to star in Captain America: The First Avenger, told Digital Spy that he is happy to share screen time with the likes of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson in The Avengers.

It's a lot easier now. Now that we've gotten through the first wave of Captain America, the press and that madness and now we're into The Avengers, where I get to share some of the workload, it's become a lot easier.

When asked if his character found it difficult to emerge as the superhero team's leader with Iron Man and Thor to contend with, Evans replied:
There are a lot of growing pains that The Avengers have to work out in the first film.

He recently filmed an Avengers cameo scene in New York with Marvel writer Stan 'The Man' Lee, who he describes as "a living legend".

He's got so much energy, so much personality, so positive. He's always smiling, always cracking jokes," Evans said of Lee. "He really is an amazing human being.

When an unexpected enemy emerges who threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. The Avengers is released May 4th, 2012!
