Yes and no. No because I don't see how this would have added anything to the film and yes because I definitely wanted to see a little more of Bucky, not so much the other guys. I'm actually fine with this being left out. Sort of.

showed also why the troops would resent Cap at first because while he is singing and dancing they are fighting and dying.

@Xenix Not exactly. the unfinished tank was a result of them cutting the scene out. They felt they didn't need to be finished, since it wasn't gonna be in the film.

Cool scene, but that In Time movie looks awful.

@Xenix - no, they left that effects shot unfinished because they realized that they didn't need the scene.

I can see why it was cut. Just a routine battle scene, generically staged, and didn't propel the narrative forward. Cool to see Bucky and Dugan get more screen time, but the scene was unnecessary.

It was likely cut for flow. As the movie stands now, the Star Spangled Man montage has "Cap fever" growing and growing until that thuderous applause, but then flows right into Cap trying the same speech on the troops to pure silence, which is a great transition. It puts the audience right there in Cap's shoes, pulling the exhilaration out from under him.

If you remind the audience about the actual fighting and dying before going to Cap trying his speech on the troops, then the audience is with the troops, thinking Cap is a real jackass.

@Drykillogic22- Yeah, I'm sorry . I thought I was posting a tread that adults would understand to be satire. Now, go wash up! Your mac & cheese is ready, and then it's time for bed! Don't forget to wash behind your ears.

This is one of those scenes that is nice outside of the movie, but would mess with the flow of the actual film if it were IN it.

Nice scene. They actually could have melded particular scenes with The Howling Commandos into the Star Spangled Man montage. That would've actually added to Steve's separation from what's actually going on, on the front lines.

But wtf do I know, I'm just a mere man :P

Jolt17
Jolt17 - 10/18/2011, 11:38 PM
They should've made this a finished scene imo, can't it explain how the Howling Commandos end up in captive? And this video also...leaves that line echoing in my head over and over again. "The star-spangled man, with a plan..." :)
Jolt17
Jolt17 - 10/18/2011, 11:41 PM
And probably what itbegins2005 said there is true, but I found WinterSoldier24's idea interesting there; they should've made this in and merged the whole scene under The Star-Spangled Man song, to show the distinction between the two sides (Steve and the Howling Commandos). Could add a bit more of depth into Steve's depression being a 'clown'. :)

@JLA2014 - fail and flop movie ,couldn't even make $220 mill at box office = Green Lantern.

Thor, CATFA and even X-Men: FC made more than that POS. It's okay. You can cry. We're here for you.
