Great interpretation off the costume. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some version of this costume appear in comics soon.

Evans looks MUCH better now that the pic is cleared up, he looks bigger, more imposing, I'm liking the costume. Agree with the first post on the guys in the background though... they look ridiculous.

wow... very cool!

@PartyHard marvel likes to play with their fans... sony is testing if at least 50% of the box office seats will be filled... i for one hope that maybe 10% of the last film box office goers see this 1 cause i want sony to sell spiderman's rights back to marvel!
Ironbat95
Ironbat95 - 1/13/2011, 9:03 PM
@otherside I agree that the rights should be at Marvel but what if the film ends up being really good? If it is a good film it deserves all the revenue they should get

Looks ok for a WW 2 prototype. The padding textture looks like they stuffed him with oven mitts to repel the threat of deadly Nazi crescent rolls. I don't care for the exposed neck either, looks like Daredevil's movie do-rag. The bulky outfit would not be practicle for the type of acrobatic movements that Cap does. It's a shame every non-comic fan director gets costume-phobia and feels they have to re-invent the wheel. The Spiderman films proved you can update the classic uniform with color and texture and make it effective. Thus, Joe Johnston has to mock Cap's real outfit with the USO sequence (sorry Joe Simon and Jack Kirby). I understand the "human flag" dilemma but there could have been a happy medium with what will work effectively on-screen. I hope as others have stated that they will give him a more form-fitting,less Army fatigue costume (Stark created no doubt) when Cap is eventually revived in The Avengers film.
My costume rant aside, Chris Evans is an an excellent choice for Captain America however, and I still have faith in the film. I think Joe Johnston is a capable director and the casting has been inspired. Captain America is my favorite character and I anxiously await this damn movie!!!AVENGFERS ASSEMBLE!!

Sorry, it's only ok for me. Its actually identical to the stunt man's costume which everyone ragged on too. I knoe Evans is obviously in better shape but it still looks too baggy or something. Can't really put my finger on it. Also the helmet is off. I'm not saying I hate it, I get that is only so much they can do while still trying to be faithful to the comic. maybe i'll feel better when i see him in motion.
JackBauer
JackBauer - 1/14/2011, 6:13 AM
Starlight - Yea, it looks like a combination flame thrower/mini-gun or something. You can see the links connecting the weapon to some kind of backpack.

Evans looks absolutely badass as Cap. The shield is [frick]ing epic! The only thing throwing it off for me is the little bandolier thing across his chest blocking the star.
ManThing
ManThing - 1/14/2011, 6:21 AM
Great pic.

Dude kinda needs something to cover his NECK. That's a very vulnerable part of the body!

JackBauer
JackBauer - 1/14/2011, 6:22 AM
The top fits him just right. It's not baggy like it was on the stuntman. The pants are a little baggy in the crotch but I'm sure they didn't want to show any moose knuckle by making it too tight :)
VictorHugo
VictorHugo - 1/14/2011, 7:04 AM
Connor McLeod would have a feast on that neck.

JIZZ@!!!@@!#$#@ This look so awesome!!!! As someone mentioned idk if its padding or not but yes evans looks more bulkier here. I was worried about that cuz cap is no little wimp! Cant wait! Trailer!!! This and Thor i am so pumped to see !!!!!!!!!!
DeadpoolDan

Mmmm still too baggy in my opinion, great design, loving what they have done, just too baggy.

I like it. It could be a little darker blue, maybe. A little less poofy. A little busy.

Love the Cap costume. Those two in the back are just Star Wars fans from Comic Con who got to go on set.
