Let's be honest. It was slightly better than Thor. This takes my top pic as an only Marvel production movie...

@ MrEko

"Thor Beat [frick] No?"....UHHHHH [frick] YEAH!!!!

X-MEN FIRST CLASS AND CAPTAIN AMERICA WERE THE BEST COMIC MOVIES THIS SUMMER!!!

I just saw the Midnight Premiere, and everyone clapped at the end like crazy...it was worse than Thor or GL. This movie beats Thor out of the water....It was better than Iron Man!!!

Too bad Captain America doesn't exist in todays society because hes almost too good to be true, and thats why it was such a bad ass movie...very character driven!!!

It was great, the ending was a bit "huh?" because it just felt like it stopped in mid sentence rather than ended- when you see it you'll know what I mean, but other than that, best marvel movie to date, better than Iron Man or Thor.

spiderman620 is so wrong... because the word "epic" doesnt describe this movie in the least...as a matter of fact, im tired of people using that word, "epic"... learn when to use it when it's needed., this movie was "MEH"!! piece of shit ending!

Loved this movie! I really liked Thor but Captain America was slightly better in my opinion.

The first Iron Man film remains the number one Marvel Studios' title for me however.

I honestly think Cap was better than Thor. The story felt complete and never rushed. Thor's Earth scenes were a little off. Something just didnt feel right. Maybe I should watch it again..
Valar1
Valar1 - 7/22/2011, 5:16 AM
I guess I like it better than iron man or thor because I really loved the character Steve Rogers, they really make you care about this scrawny punk who just won't quit when everyone tells him to, Iron man was about a guy waking up to his irresponsibility, Thor was a guy waking up to his arrogance, but here its a guy who was whole beforehand, he just physically didn't have it- he was already a decent guy and just needed the chance to succeed and give back and when he gets it you really root for him. I totally loved this movie. aside from the ending,

I liked this movie a lot and I was pleasantly surprised. Much better than I expected.

Story - it was a balanced fast paced story which got me hooked from beginning to end. It was very inspiring and well done. The action scenes were awesome and there were plenty. That is what I wanted to see in a Cap movie and I can easily say that is up there with The Incredible Hulk action-wise, even more.

Chris Evans - What can I say? He nailed the role. Skinny Steve was great to watch so when he's already post-serum you know that guy is gonna kick some serious cluster [frick]ing ass!! (lol). Finally Chris Evans in the leading role of a great movie.

Hugo Weaving - Every time he was on screen I just focus on him. The make up department did an outstanding job with Red Skull. The looks just elevated the character, but the acting made it epic.(Yes I had to use that word!! Hail Hydra!!!)

Supporting Cast - Almost no complaints because everyone was there for their fair share of time although I would have liked to see Bucky a little more. Hayley Atwell was great and the little "crush" she and Cap had was well done and not overexposed. Stanley Tucci for the brief time he was on screen he was very inspiring and was kind of a father figure we could all relate to. Tommy Lee Jones nailed every scene he was in and I was surprised he had so many scenes.

Ending - I think one if not the best scene in the movie, really well done. I had goosebumps when he runs through the building he's in until he reaches outside and sees a whole new world. The shock and confusion Cap showed was believable and when you see that he realizes that Peggy isn't there anymore I can understand it. It might have been 70 years but for him it was seconds, minutes, so I don't blame him that amidst all the confusion he thinks and holds on to something familiar, someone he cared.

Post-credits scene - All kinds of awesome, a dream come true and now it makes more sense to me after seeing who Cap is.
