The Howling Commandos! That would be young Samuel L. Jackson on the far right then.

edit: My bad, so its Gabe Jones.

On the first pic: from the neck-down, the USO suit is acceptable - but mask is still as atrocious as ever.... it's as if his forehead is a tad too high and the wings aren't where it should be: at the sides of this head right above the ears. Speaking of ears... where are they?

I love how they're poking fun at how dumb a literal translation of the comicbook costume would be... It reminds me of this:

Cap is gonna own this summer :)

Not Howling commandos. They're the Invaders and the black chap is Gabe Jones not Nick Fury

@BlackSun77: so the image from merchandise or wherever its from but likely to be from Marvel has named them the Howling Commandos and you still think they're the invaders? denial much?

However you are right about it being Gabe and not Fury.

Hello people

the more news coming out on Cap the more i get the feeling that some things havent been done right,
first of all i saw the trailer review the review was done with two guys hwo was on the captain america movie, some where one guy said some thing like he did not wandt Cap to be storming any beach because they didnt wandt to insault any grand dads hwo really did the beachstorming back in WW2, when i heard that i was like WHAT! i got the feeling that they tottaly missed way Cap was invented back in March 1941 was to give our boys (our grandads) the sens that we could beat these nazis!(BOOST MORAL!!!) so why in hell would my grand dad ubject to seeing Cap storm normandy beach?? when you could arguably say that capt helpt our boys (our grandads) whin the war! plus wolverine allready did it in his movie and i thought it was one of the best scene,s in the movie!!??

Second, Im not seeing enough nazis in the clips and trailers, i didnt see any swastika at all!! again the Reason this character even exist was to beat up the Nazis and to boost moral!! letting Cap have his own anymies seems like it wont be realistic and treu to the origin im allmost getting a disney kiddy feeling!!

Look i dont wandt start any worry's but im getting the feeling that we are beeing robbed of a movie that would have been way better than what we are getting right now!

Would've been cooler to see the unused concepts of Red Skull.

@TSA: No. The movie isn't out yet. Maybe it'll answer that question, maybe it won't, but until then any answer you get won't be much more than speculation at best.

My speculation is that either they're keeping WWII Fury as a 'surprise' or have decided that having two guys (Cap and Fury) survive the war until modern day would be a bit contrived seeming and make Steve less unique, so may have decided that Fury wasn't around for WWII at all.

While that may sound like 'sacrilege' to some, I can see the sense in it, if they do go that way.

However, in Iron Man 2, Fury does say to Tony that he knew his dad well... from when we don't know, but it could date right back to WWII.

As I say, until the movie comes out all this is speculation at best though.

Well, since they kind of "merge" the two universes of 616 and Ultimate to make this movie... let me ask you this, did Ulti-black Nick Fury fight in WWII ?
MSPaint
MSPaint - 7/3/2011, 8:31 PM
Yeah he did..but he was more involved in vietnam and junk....i could see gabe jones becoming "nick fury" as a code name...could be kinda cool. Otherwise maybe in a SHIELD movie theyll explain how fury met howard stark in some awesome vietnam montage or something.

Why cap is gonna be a kiddy movie!
Orphix

@KingMarvel

Normandy beach landings really happened. Some soldiers from that very day still live. But also many didn't. A big sacrifice was paid that day and a lot of people still alive lost family members.

Even for those of us who were yet to be born may find it a little bit insensitive to put a fictional hero with super powers storming the beaches and 'saving the day'. Some may feel it takes away from the achievement and the sarcifice from those who actually risked everything and died on that day.
