I don't mind his dislike of the film. That's his opinion and more power to him.

What I don't like about Richard Roeper is that in his reviews he seems more concerned with being clever and delivering quotable sound bytes than offering illuminating critical points.

Not that it matters. I'll still be in line tomorrow.

I just reviewed this Miscreant's review of Green Lantern. Of course, he dealt out many of the same vapid , moronic and sophmoric comments regarding comic movies in general. Although he seemed to be harder on Green Lantern (big suprise there), he gave it a C-. He gave Cap a C? for being not that orginal and underwhelming? And this moron can't even come up with some new zippy one liners for a few moments of T.V. time? This reminds of the time I took somone to see Shakespeare and afterwards they opined about how Shakespeare was cliche.

Jeez calm down people this is just one review. I stopped listening to movie critics a long time ago. A lot of them just don't know how to have him at the movies and just enjoy somthing how it is. No not all movies are Oscar winners but that doesn't mean you can't have fun with them. I will take a good, fun movie over an Oscar winner anyday.

Who cares. The RT meter is at 73% currently. It's fresh and not garbage like GL. It could go up and be on par with Thor. Hopefully it can make $65 mil or more this weekend even if it opens at #2.

Plus, Roepers whole career is due to Gene Siskels death. He's a hack and is criticizing stuff that clearly seems to be intentional which shows he knows dick.
