I LOVED DREDD....I can't wait to read this new series. I liked a lot what IDW has done with many great franchises. Godzilla, Mars Attack, Transformers, GI Joe, TMNT, and many more are really great. They are second in my rank of comic companies, just above DC but below Marvel

Frick that bag of shite! Just buy 2000AD! Anything else is just a pale American friendly piece of watered down crap.Grow some balls and go for the original. After all, that's what made the character live in the first place!
Don't fret about where to jump on.This ain't no Marvel soap opera bullshit!Just pic a prog and run with it.Back issues are available in tpb.But that's not the point with 2000AD.The point is that the best is coming next week! Not that you should look to some fictional bygone epoch :)

@Amazo and Marvel72.....I read an interview the writer gave and he praised the originals and always wanted to do a Judge Dredd series of his own, so even if people never read any of the original comics this can be a good way for them to be introduced, then they can follow that up by reading the 2000AD TPB's

Due to IDW's the Cape, I've become quite a fan of Nelson Daniel and Zach Howard over the years. But if I'm gonna read Judge Dredd I'd rather go with the stuff from 2000AD.

It's a bold move by IDW but as a 2000AD reader from their first issue, I did feel that this intro was about three pages too long.

This is probably a cultural thing, as I'm used to reading Dredd in 6-8 page bursts in a weekly comic, so the storytelling, and particularly the action, is far more condensed and abrupt.

I've no idea what to expect from a more long-form monthly title, but I'm willing to give it a go.

I hope it works.

Yeah, you can get 2000AD and that's great stuff but having another comic of Dredd is great.
Why be a dumbass & not support a character you like?
Pick up the book & give it a try..I will.

DREDD RULES!
