The schlocky art and dialogue looks reminiscent of the earlier UK miracle man comics from the late 50's to 1963. This story may be the bridge between that earlier run and the revived series in the early 80's by Alan Moore which was considerable darker and adult in theme.

ah thanks for the explanation. I would still rather jump into a hot car with leather seats and accidentally sit on my own balls then look at that throwback work tho.

Oh my God. Two things: Allred is an incredible artist, and if you can't at least recognize his talent (regardless of whether it's you're thing or not), then Christ, I don't know what to say to you. Ya got brainwashed by the Jim Lee school of comicbook art, and that's a damn shame.

Secondly, if you don't why get the corny, cartoony sequence is taking place, [frick] off until you read up on the history of Miracleman on Wikipedia, or you visit, like, any website about Miracleman, before you start trolling like a troll who trolls.

Jollem, Dunejedi, ComradeGrey, LightspeedJones, MightZeus, PiggyV, and WruceBane all know what's up. If you've never read Madman, do yourself a favor and do so. Mike and Laura Allred are brilliant cartoonists who relish in the inherent pop art nature of comics. Their stuff can readily entertain children and adults alike. Don't get me wrong, I love my grim and gritty as much as the next guy, but sometimes you just need to have a little fun after reading the Frank Millers and Alan Moores of the world.
