So basically Batman is now Jim and the lovechild of Ironman and Robocop....

*SIGH* this better not last long...

I hated it when James Rhodes took over for Iron Man . . .
REALLY didn't like Bucky taking over for Cap . . .
Went nuts when Eric Masterson tok the "mantle" of Thor . . .

So while I might be a Marvel fan at heart, I think I'm on solid NON-hypocrytical ground here when I say . . .

this whole Gordon thing is just stooooooooopid.

So he's basically Robocop? Is it weird I would have preferred a robot that thought it was Bruce and just slowly went insane? Then again, I'm no writer so....

and yes, I know Bruce will be back after convergence is over.
Still stupid.

Ummmm... FAIL. Does not look good at all. And why does Jim Gordon suddenly look 20 years younger and super bulked up? Steroids me thinks. Way to go DC. Destroy the one book that holds your company afloat. Why does DC, and Marvel for that matter, think killing off a major hero is good for sales. We all know the hero will return in a a year. Try reinventing villains that you haven't used in a while and give us great stories involving them instead of killing off the hero. We read the books because we like the characters, not because we can't wait for them to die so you can put some filler bozo in until you decide it's time for the original to return.

Ok ok here's something else that's going to bug the hell out of me: the fact that THIS version of Jim will eventually be a part of the batfamily. I always liked Jim being on the opposite end of the field, and though he was at times out of the loop, there are things as commissioner he can do that Bruce can't. Furthermore, the batfamily is already too big in my opinion. Harper for example is an ok character, but shes too little too late to join at this point without feeling redundant. And before you ask, yes Barbra should have stayed crippled as Oracle and yes I hate the idea of Damian and Tim should have been the last robin. But I digress

yeah the new 52 justice league was okay but the reinvention of characters and Jim Lee a big sell to me, young Jim Gordon eh ill pass I agree instead of rebooting the universe bring in different talent and make all books monthly titles that way you get creators to do 12 issues move on DCU wtf the Asian superman and now this crap..smh progress the characters Damien was a good start but how about making Lois and Superman married in cannon? Stop playing it safe

Story is now dead in comics. It just no longer exists. Events and hype have replaced character development and reason of any sort.

I am now thoroughly convinced the editorial staffs at both Marvel and DC are merely semi-trained chimpanzees randomly hurling shit at a wall festooned with 3X5 cards covered in story ideas written by mentally challenged five year olds; whatever it sticks to gets thrown into the next event.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, please, for the next five years no universal reboots, no major character deaths with minor character replacements, no random and radical backstory changes for established characters, no more freaking events. Just give me good old fashioned character development, well written interesting stories that allow the characters to grow and evolve on their own without being shoehorned into characterizations or actions that make no sense. And for the love of God if you want more diversity then, by all means, develop new interesting characters that reflect more variety of race, gender, religion, and sexual preference without having to suddenly alter an established character in that regard as it just feels like pandering.

Sad thing is Batman was one of the few books that seemed to be making an effort to give us just what I’m talking about. And now this…

What? So Gordan is the new Azbats? Didnt Morrison just do a successful death of batman story?

Sorry, but I don't like it. Batman should not look like a Transformer and have a GCPD logo on him.

"The f%$#" is my immediate reaction to... pretty much ALL of this.

Why are Bullock and Montoya trying to kill Bullock's partner? What possible reasonable explanation could justify such out-of-character behavior? Is it all just a ruse? (More than likely... which raises the question of why they're ACTING like they're going to/have murdered a fellow officer.)

Also, good GOD, what the hell is up with Jim Gordon here? Why does he look like a twenty-five-year-old bodybuilder! I mean, look at that last shot of his face... That looks REMARKABLY like Bane did back in the '90s!

This is just weird all over. I'm curious about the whole Gordon-as-Batman storyline, but I think I'll just stick with Snyder and Capullo, thanks.
