POLL: Which Other DC Superheroes Should Join ARROW And THE FLASH On The CW?

POLL: Which Other DC Superheroes Should Join ARROW And THE FLASH On The CW? POLL: Which Other DC Superheroes Should Join ARROW And THE FLASH On The CW?

Like it or not, The Flash will make his latest live-action appearance not in a movie, but in a television series on the CW. So, if the future of many of DC's superheroes will be on the small screen and on this network, who else should join the Scarlet Speedster and Starling City's vigilante?

At this point in time, we have literally no idea how The Flash's upcoming small screen debut will impact the chances of the Scarlet Speedster getting his own movie. Will we one day see Grant Gustin (and Stephen Amell's Green Arrow) lining up alongside Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman or will other actors be chosen for the big screen versions? Either way, it is now obvious that Warner Bros. are keen on bringing their stable of DC superheroes to life on the small screen; Wonder Woman still hasn't been given her own movie, but two attempts have been made to bring her to television. Now, the DC Universe is a huge place and this poll would consist of literally hundreds of characters if we named them all. For that reason, I've looked at "The New 52" titles which are currently on sale and chosen the most popular suggestions which are so often brought up here on CBM. However, if you have any other ideas, please don't hesitate to share them with us!

I think bringing in a big name hero would only overshadow Ollie. Flash is fine because he'll spin off into his own show and won't be staying in Starling City, but in terms of a recurring character then I think maybe characters a little more obscure like The Question, Wildcat, Black Lightning or Blue beetle(Ted Kord).

@batz11 I like that Palicki has played evil syren in "Aquaman" and then became a Wonder Woman))) And she also was even in "Smallville" - Kara in "Covenant"!!! But then it wasn't real Kara Supergirl)) But "Aquaman" pilot wasn't bad. It deserve to become a series...

First of all we have to know if Arrow is a part of the DCCU . If it is then they should have no more because if there are too many it will become a big hot mess .

Too young of a universe for Nightwing, his origin is to hard to explain without Batman.

The character I would like to see the most on TV is The Spectre but I don't know that he would fit in either show. I like what @Logan276 said Black Lighting would be cool on the Flash show and The Question would be awesome on Arrow or The Flash.

sinchsw - 9/20/2013, 10:02 AM
No super humans. The Question, Wildcat, classic Blue Beetle. Stuff like that. The show does not have a budget that can pull off super powers like Green Lantern or any Kryptonian fare, and as stated above, you would have some explaining to do for Nightwing (and rewriting him so he is unaffiliated with Batman would be sinful).

With the announcement of Grant Gustin as Flash I seriously doubt Arrow is connected with the DCCU which makes me very sad.

I still don't get why anyone wants to see a live-action Nightwing. Either he has to be directly connected to Batman, which would take forever to set up and would be way too damn convoluted (especially if you're starting with Nightwing, or-- worse still-- trying to tie him in with MOVIE Batman), or they'd have to change him in so many fundamental ways that he wouldn't technically be Nightwing anymore!

Besides, Nightwing is a pretty damn boring character. His whole schtick is that he's like Batman, but more acrobatic and less brooding. That's... great?

Honestly, I just don't see the appeal. Besides, in Green Arrow, we've already got ONE acrobatic, slightly less brooding Batman knock-off running around... do we really need two?

Holy crap-- THE QUESTION!!!!!

Thank you @alphadog, @Dmon, and @sinchsw for suggesting the one DC character who would be perfectly suited for inhabiting the same universe as Arrow, yet could do it without stepping on his toes stylistically or thematically. Make a hard-boiled noir-style mystery series about the Question, dammit!

He's WAY more interesting than f%$#ing Nightwing.

In all seriousness, without a question, it should be The Question.

I think Nightwing needs an animated movie. Also, I want good Marvel animation. Why can't we get a decent Marvel cartoon?

@crashrendar Eric Kripke creator of Supernatural was supposed to be working on a Deadman show but I don't know what ever happened with it. Maybe after Supernatural is over we might see it. I think it could be really good and if we could see Constantine, Zatana, Raven and The Spectre on it then would be really awesome.
TheFox
TheFox - 9/20/2013, 11:16 AM
@ManOfReal: I read plenty of comics. I'm a huge, HUGE Batman fan. And I think Nightwing is as dull as a pile of wet cardboard.

He's sort of like a half-assed cross between Batman and Spider-Man. You get the nocturnal vigilantism, brooding nature (toned WAY down, of course), and gadgetry from Bats, with the acrobatics and jokey, friendly nature (toned WAY down, of course) of Spidey. But he just seems a bit ill-formed as a character unto himself, mostly because those two natures DO NOT GO WELL TOGETHER.

Keep in mind, I'm not saying I hate the guy-- he was the first Robin! From a purely mythological standpoint, he's a cool character, and he's actually pretty effective as a mentor to subsequent Robins (Tim Drake and Damian Wayne, specifically) and as Batman's favorite "son". But on his own, there's not a lot to him-- and I personally just find him boring when he's having his solo adventures.

And if they made a T.V. show about him-- especially one divorced from the Batman mythology-- all we'd be getting would be the least interesting parts of the character and his story. I just don't see why anyone would want that.

@TheFox I agree and Nightwing is not even the most interesting of the original Titans, to me Raven is the most interesting followed by Cyborg.

If Ollie is Green Arrow, and I'm going to assume Barry is Flash, then bringing in Nightwing, or batgirl would not make too much sense unless they were a fair bit younger.

Last season marked the first year Green Arrow was working as a hero. That means you would need to introduce older characters. JSA members, the Atom, etc. Nightwing would be maybe Roy's age and probably lost his parents a few years before.

And when it comes to Robins I prefer Tim Drake.

DC should do a show on HBO, they are both own by Time Warner. It's not for the violence sex or language but the qualities and budget.

Terrible show, it's like Smallville without any of the fun, superpowers, and a fraction of the ratings.

But if you like watching brooding shirtless guys in the dark that can't act, then it's really great.

Most of those names on that list would only take away from Green Arrows growing popularity. If they add any characters they'll have to pull from the more obscured characters like Beware the Batman is trying to do with it's villians.

Where's Wonder Woman on the poll...?

She deserves more than being a secondary choice in an "Other" tab, and I honestly don't want to see a character done right more than her.
BIGDane42
BIGDane42 - 9/20/2013, 1:15 PM
I would refrain from using the big, BIG guns. Wally West(or Walt from the future), Cyborg and Question are a bigger priority, and should have been listed. From the list, I would pick Red Hood, Nightwing, and Hal for a three way tie. Like stated, Deathstroke will be here real soon. I voted for Hal.
TheFox
TheFox - 9/20/2013, 1:16 PM
@ManOfReal: "... its more about the rise to Nightwing that I like more than his actual run as nightwing."

Soooo... you don't actually like Nightwing, you just like the build-up to Dick Grayson becoming Nightwing?

... So Robin, then?

Not a compelling argument for doing a solo Nightwing T.V. show.

And keep in mind, we're NOT TALKING ABOUT A TITANS SHOW. That's a completely different animal, and there's an option for that on the list. I'll admit, Dick is pretty decent as the straight-laced team leader, too-- basically, Dick's best role is playing the straight man to someone else.

But on his own, Nightwing just doesn't deliver.

Since the CW loves its supernatural flavored shows and has since it was just the WB. Why not have a Dr. Fate show which then could have special appearance of all the supernatural heroes of the DCU. I'd like to Eragon(sp), Zatana, The Spector. Those would all be great on the CW. Plus I keep hearing people moan and complain about DC characters not becoming movies. Personally I'd rather have the DC Universe on the small screen you really have the chance to flesh out characters and stories. The big screen adaptions are starting to play the 90's game of "what big name they can get to play a character" again. I don't care if I have never heard of this or that actor as long as he fits the character. For this reason Id love a DC television universe that is connected to each other.
