Axel Alonso Talks How MARVEL COMICS Help Fuel MARVEL STUDIOS

While sitting down with ComicBookResources.com for his weekly interview, Axel Alonso, Marvel's Comics Editor-in-Chief talks how it feels for the comic makers to see their story-line hit the big screen. Hit the jump to check it out!

Axel Alonso spoke with CBR and gave his thoughts on how him and the 'publishing side' help Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios generate their stories and put them on the big screen. "It hasn't sucked! [Laughs] Look, Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios have done an incredible job producing films that strip-mine decades worth of stories to create one enjoyable movie experience." He then says that he knows that the people at Marvel Comics are doing a good job when Feige and Marvel decides to run with one of their creative plots. "So when they pick stories that bear our fresh fingerprints, it reminds us that we're doing good stories in the first place."

What plot did Marvel Studios use from the comic-world, you might ask? Many of the MCU films, in fact, the two hit films that came out this year were based off a certain comic story-line (Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy.) With that said, Marvel Studios work hand and hand with Marvel Comics...quite like something i'd like to call a 'team'. Will we ever see Sony's part of Marvel and Feige's part work as a team? Only time will tell. Sound off below with your thoughts!

Too bad the comics themselves are doing horribly (with the exception of a few) and letting the films dictate their stories now.

I would love to see an Indestructible Hulk movie.

If/When Marvel ever gets the rights back to X-Men, the recent "All New X-Men" run by Bendis would be an interesting way to introduce them into the MCU.

Hell, any [frick]ing Hulk movie, I don't care. I just want another movie dedicated to the big guy.

The Hulk deserves another film. He's one of Marvel's greatest characters, and it stinks for him to only appear in team films. Especially now that the public has embraced Ruffalo, Marvel should totally give him another shot.

I really loved how my favorite comic book team got a movie made about them.

@Melkaticox I did say with the exception of a few.
Thor I really like. And Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, those off the top of my head I know are good too.
But a majority I've seen just don't do it for me anymore.

@0megaDaGod

Them getting together was sort of taken from Annihilation Conquest: Star-Lord. Quill meets Rocket and Groot in a Kree prison. So some of it was inspired by that I would think.

The comics though should continue to tell their own stories and not do what the films are doing just to be like the films. The films are great, but do your own thing.
