COMICS: A Classic Villain FINALLY Returns In The Pages Of SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #4

He's baaaack! Fans enjoyed seeing an unstable Norman Osborn take over the Thunderbolts after the events of Civil War, but when he later became an Avengers level threat as the head of H.A.M.M.E.R., many were disappointed that they never got a proper confrontation between him and Spider-Man in the pages of Siege. Oh, and the less said about him recently Hulking out in Brian Michael Bendis' New Avengers, the better! Well, The Superior Spider-Man writer Dan Slott has finally brought back the Green Goblin in issue #4 (which went on sale today) of the controversial "Marvel NOW!" series. With Marvel's May solicitation promising a fully fledged return for the villain, it seems likely that he will take centre stage in this summer's big Spider-Man event. Unfortunately, it also appears as if it will be Doctor Octopus that he ends up facing off against rather than Peter Parker! What do you guys think? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts below.

Awesome to see him back, but hard to get excited when a) Peter Parker is no longer Spider-Man and b) Osborn doesn't remember who is beneath the mask anyway (making almost all of their shared history totally irrelevant).

I agree the Reformin Norman arc needed to end but now having him face Ock could go either way. Will we see Norman find out that Ock is now Spiderman (seriously, no one knows Pete like Norman)? Will we see Spidey wipe the floor with the Goblin just to show how Superior this new take really is? or will we just see a pale imitation of the Peter/Norman battle that alot of us have been waiting for?

Man you guys are gonna be pissed when you find out it's not really Norman. Turns out it is the Superior Green Goblin. Wolverine is actually in possession of Norman's mind and decided he'd take the oppurtunity to show Spidey what a joke he is. Only it's not really Spidey it's Doc Ock. The fight we always wanted. Tentacles vs Claws only with Webs Vs Pumpkin Bombs...holy shit my head hurts

I gave lots of my money to Slott and TASM. Biggest waist if money I've spent on comics. Marvel and DC are so tired and desperate its pathetic people feed into this garbage.

@teinen: It's also pathetic that you care so much to go on the internet and rant about it.

FINALLY!!!!

I don't even like this book, but I'm glad Osborn is back as the Goblin instead of Iron Patriot. Dark Reign and Siege were good, but I missed classic Spidey-villain Norman Osborn. That's what I loved about Ultimate Spider-Man, until #160 it was pretty consistent.

Superior Spider-man has been DAMN good so far. All 4 issues are solid and genuinely interesting. I'm actually excited to read each issue as they come out.

Now this I can get excited for. This idea is pretty smart. Doc Ock going up against the baddest baddie that Spider-man has encountered. To win against him would prove his superiority but I'm sure Osborn has something up his sleeve.
