COMICS: Colonel America? A New Captain Marvel? AGE OF ULTRON Spoilers Ahead

Thanks to Bleeding Cool we have the following scan from the end of this week's Age Of Ultron, along with a few details.

As you can see Captain America is know a Colonel, Scott Summers is missing an eye and is the new Cable, and he is now in a relationship with former Wasp Janet Van Dyne as the new Captain Marvel. I have no idea what's going on with Tony Stark! This is the new face of Marvel (at least for now) after Wolverine and Sue Storm went back and killed Hank Pym before he had a chance to create Ultron -- but what happened to cause such drastic alterations? Bleeding Cool speculate that it has to do with the Kree/Skrull war, and you can click the link below for more on that.

And to think that DC was frowned upon for their reboot lol. They changed their outfits and slightly altered some origin stories but, they didn't go "balls out" like MARVEL is doing. The concept is ok and tolerable but, this MARVEL NOW make over is painful to watch.

Since the title mentions certain character changes maybe you should remove them since not all of us have started reading AoU yet.

And...
1. Daredevil has 20/20 vision and flys
2. Spiderman is now Curt Conners and Peter is his sidekick Bucky
3. Nick Fury has both eyes and can rival Hawkeye in marksmenship, he's also a rookie agent at SHEILD
4. War Machine is a tank. No a real tank, no driver, just sits parked in back of the Avengers Masion. Which by they way is a closed taco bell location.

SEE MARVEL I CAN DO IT TOO!!! (Wonder what Stan Lee thinks of this, not that he has much of a say anymore)

@grif -- couldn't agree more. I've been musing on here for years that Marvel needs to dump all their multi-titles. This is what happens when you have more than one writer working on one character -- you get so many stories for each character per month that story ideas get used up pretty quickly, next thing you know continuity is out the window, canon is rewritten, Wolverine becomes completely unkillable and Cyclops loses an eye.

One title per character, one writer per title.

Marvel needs to do a proper reboot. People talked mad junk about the New 52 when DC did it and it's been some of the best writing and stories in years. The New 52 works very well. I'd say right now Marvel may be winning on the film front but DC is easily winning on the comics front. Marvel needs to stay true to what they are...a comic company.

Why do you peopl care? You don't have to buy these titles. Some people will buy them and enjoy them. But if you don't like the storyline then don't but it. It doesn't effect the comic you like. Try harder DC fanboys, go deeper.

@ParisSun

Your right. I won't be buying this book. Age Of Ultron was kinda interesting and okay to read. But this looks too ridiculous. I'll stick with Thor God Of Thunder, Daredevil, All New X men, and Uncanny X men. Why? Because they aren't pieces of shit stories trying to force shock value. And If I want to shit on a comic I can. Thats the beauty of merica! Stop with the fanboy excuse.

I think when people complain about these things, they're not doing it to troll (though I'm sure some are). They're complaining because they WANT to read these stories, but something is off about the comic/story/characters that turns them away and causes them to demand more from a company that has helped raise generation after generation with morals, ideals, and entertainment. These companies opened our eyes to brilliant characters with extraordinary abilities that we strive for.
Having said that, the thing that gets me is a lot of the artwork. It's called Marvel NOW! but it looks like it was drawn anywhere from 1960-1980. What attracts a consumer is a visual. These books (with a few exceptions) have not had visually enticing art to cause me to not even want to read the stories if I'm gonna have to look at the art.
I really liked the Marvel Infinity thing they started a while back. It added a new element to comics. It added fluid depth of view, perception. You can't get that with a physical book, but there is nothing like a physical book, don't get me wrong.
The DC reboot was a bad idea that turned out to be a fantastic, necessary change. We still got the characters we love, but they made some costume changes that helped changed things up but left a familiar feel. Now, I've heard they're beginning to switch villains up; having heroes like Superman fight a Batman villain like Scarecrow. I think I heard they did that a while back, but as a semi-newcomer to comics, this is so interesting to me because I don't have to watch Batman take down Mr. Freeze the same way. I get to see Batman take down Capt. Cold. Okay, bad example. haha But I'm used to the old Batman vs Deadshot dynamic: Bats=no guns, Deadshot=ranged attacks (at his best), Batman has to be (and usually always is) one step ahead of him. But if the Flash fought Deadshot, Deadshot wouldn't even get to hear the sound of the bullet leaving the chamber before he realized he was shooting at nothing, only to turn around to see Flash behind him.
AND THEY FIXED AQUAMAN! :D
I'd love to see a Marvel reboot in the same vein as the New 52. Which, btw, the "New 52" is like Baskin Robbins: originally had 31 flavors, now has over a 1000. The name is now pointless with all the new books, but whatever.
Some would say, "Marvel is copying DC." To that I say, "So what? It will start a competition to outdo the other. We would get more compelling stories/characters."
Sorry this is so long. Just one more thing.
The whole "Wolverine is a part of too many teams" or just too many teams with shared characters thing is true. I can't keep up. I think if they want to have Spider-man team up with the Fantastic Four, he should wear their costume. If he teams up with the Avengers, he could wear a more powerful suit (reason being, the avengers are probably going up against something big. You don't call in Spider-man for daily crime fighting. You call him when you need everyone you can get. Spidey would more than likely require a more advanced suit to deal with whatever is about to go down though I'm not saying he should be like Iron Man and wear 1000s of suits. Just have one for each team to help differentiate what team I'm watching.)
P.S.S, they could do a real-time type of thing where instead of a Spider-Man book going on at the same time he's in an Avengers book, while he's with the Avengers, they should hold off on the Spider-Man solo book until he finishes his work with the Avengers so the timelines all match up. Now, I know that some people like some writers/artists more than others, and honestly, I hadn't thought that far ahead lol But that's my 2 cents.
...
Well, more like $7.56. But whatever.

So not having read any of Age of Ultron, this seems like it is Marvel's version of Flashpoint.

I miss the days when Super Heroes fought super villains, it lasted one or two issues, then it was somebody new.Maybe you got a good story arc like "The Phoenix or Korvac Sagas"now and then, but not this "Event" crap. It's getting old,and most of them aren't very good. Please Marvel, get back to telling good stories...Damn!!

@MatchesMalone1989 You're right I don't knoew you and you don't know me either. Don't call me boy, I'm not some 14 year old posting from their mother's basement. My previous statement was not particularly aimed at you, but no you can't back up any comments about a story you haven't read. That's the point, anyone that critiques a story without reading it first is a moron and no amount of self appointed comic book cred makes up for that.

Guys, this is a STORY. This isn't a reboot of the entire universe. This is not temporary. This is a STORY just like Age of Apocalypse. Remember that story? One of the best Xmen stories of it's time? Calm down people!

I think this is also a tactic for when they bring back the original characters, all of you geeks will be jumping for joy, and eating it all up, reading the shit out of the return of the All MIGHTY ORIGINAL AVENGERS! You guys fall for it all the time... lol Don't stress.

Don't like this series? Then stop buying the series! Easy, simple and far less drama for everyone involved.

(plus it really lets Marvel know what you think since you are voting with your money)

What is going on?!? Captain America apparently is "Nick Fury" now.

Tony Stark is bald and has no mustache and goatee. Janet Van Dyne is Captain Marvel? Where is Carol Danvers???

And Cyclops has become Cable? That's a lot of crazy changes.
