COMICS: Does Preview Of ALL-NEW X-MEN #6 Tease Beast's New Look?

No, that's not him in the thumbnail! But a panel from the first page of the following preview might give us a (distant) glimpse of Beast's new look for All-New X-Men. Check out the cover and 4 unlettered pages of superb artwork from David Marquez after the jump..

Hank McCoy is not a well mutant, and having recently undergone surgery to try to save his life, the character may be about to debut an even Beastly-er look. Have a look at the first panel of the first preview page and you'll see a big blue fella that looks an awful lot like Beast - but with a very different head - sitting at the table furthest away from us..

Here's a closer look at the panel in question..

Is it him? Certainly seems to be, but how would this new appearance go down with you guys if it was? Get a closer look when All-New X-Men #6 hits shelves January 16th.

I'm not sure if that's beast or not.. But this art is amazing

Im gonna go ahead and say that it isn't Hank. if it is.... it'd be weird how further mutating him turned him smaller than he previously was........ Also a teacher being the only one walking around topless?

Whoa. He kinda looks "rat like" from that picture which I hope is not the case. Hopeing for more a "Lychan" look.

Looks like everyone is trying to steal 16 year old Jean and she can hear everything you think about her...

I like Angel meeting Angel. I mean this stuff is really good. I just hope he tries to save him from the "Morlocks" tunnels.

So they're trying to make him look like a blue Yeti with alienish pointy ears? That sucks. I prefer the classic blue beast look. They should have stuck with that look and just made his face when mad look more fierce and menacing without having some ridiculous cat look.

Looks like it. He's blue, furry, and wearing Beast's pants. Plus he's sitting next to young Hank, whereas both Icemen are there too, and both Angels are together outside. And it seems Kitty is standing in for Jean, so presumably the two Cyclopses will be having a discussion. That should be interesting...

Warren? "Oh hi, younger me. Gosh we sure were cute in a dorky way." So, you - I - we're, uh, gay? "No. Just fabulous!"

Scott's gonna steal Cyclops' bike, just like in that movie!

Older Angel's saying: "Tah-dah! With these badass metal wings I can totally hover without flapping. Also you're gonna be the Angel of Death for a little while. So, y'know, there's that."

IF that is Beast, I won't judge it too harshly till I get a proper look. That said, I think Beast looks awesome as is, so why change?

for me it's nostalgia drivel, what if old x-men and new x-men met: the end. that's all it is. Claremont would never resort to this shit, but Bendis would because he is a gimmick writer.

Beast looks good I think, angel meets his future hippie self, and Cyclops should tap dat young Jean baby

Of course the artist may have gotten lazy and didn't want to draw some of his features.

I have no idea what's going on in the X-Men world at all right now, but why are Cyke and Magneto storming into teenage Jean's (?) bedroom in full costume and start yelling at her? o.O

Anything else aside, I'm digging fabulous Angel...! :D

I don't usually like Bendis's writing but he's been really great on this book. I'll continue reading this one.

Bendis is one of those who pine for the old blue avenger look.. But keep in mind, he's likely been in surgery hence the bald look. Nothing to worry about fanboys. :D

SuperSomething616 - 12/29/2012, 12:01 PM
Considering he's wedged between original xmen members beast & iceman id say it was present day beast...but too small to get a good idea what the final look will be...

Concerning the Beast I like the new look, it looks more muscular with much more definition than his recent look (more Cat–like).

For the record I still prefer his first blue look! Or the original non-gray furry look.
longbowhunter
longbowhunter - 12/29/2012, 12:22 PM
I always liked the cat look. It makes more sense for him to be ape like though. Before he turned blue and furry he was very ape-ish.

Okay, I don't think anyone else is noticing this.... but why the hell can't they keep Immonen on the book? I mean, whoever this artist is is good, I'll give em that. But why do they always have someone draw for 4 or 5 books and then *yoink* they mess with the style?

That's one of the reasons that the Whedon/Cassaday run was so good -- because they did like 24 issues together. Give it some blasted continuity, for goodness' sake ---- it's not like ANYone was upset with Immonen's work.

the x-men celebrate their 50th anniversary next year something huge is gonna happen.the x-men from the past are learning whats gonna happen to them in their future i.e sentinels, the dark phoenix saga, cable, apocalypse,mr sinister, the mutant massacre & so on.

if they go back & try & prevent any of these events from happening how will it alter the present or even future events.

i can see something as big as the age of apocalypse happening.

Love the artwork but I can't wait till Stuart Immonen comes back.

I read all 4 issues of All New X-Men but am I missing something? Cyclops & Magneto are welcomed to the Jean Grey School??
