COMICS: First Look At Daniel Acuña's Avengers Shows HYDRA Hulks And Civil War Flashback!

Brian Michael Bendis has released a couple of preview pages from an upcoming issue of The Avengers by Daniel Acuña, and not only do they feature some Hulked out HYDRA agents, but a mysterious flashback to the death of Goliath...

Personally, I'm a HUGE fan of Daniel Acuña's art, and am very excited about the news that he'll soon be taking over from John Romita Jr. as the main artist on The Avengers. It's what in these preview pages (released by Brian Michael Bendis via his Twitter account earlier today) that's interesting though. While the HYDRA Hulks are sure to be a fun threat to see the team of heroes face off against, it's the Civil War flashback I'm most intrigued by. What is up with that S.H.I.E.L.D agent stealing one of the dead Goliath's hairs?

Like Paulley said, the Goliath in the Revengers is the son of the Goliath that got killed in Civil War.

and can i just say that it never ceases to amaze me how many people on this site really don't know comics?

also, these Hydra-Hulks aren't going to be ongoing characters, people.

I'm sure Hydra is testing something on their agents to use as weapons.

@ Aklash

Ha, not anymore, I'd rather have Greg Land draw the Avengers then Romita Jr. Just something about the way he draws faces makes them so un-intimidating.

ALCOHOLICA STAY THE TOUNGE ROMITA IS ONE OF THE ALLTIME GREATS IN COMICS. BUT WITH THE AVENGERS COMING OUT IN 2012 THEY DO NEED A MORE MODERN ARTIST. OLIVER COIPEL FROM THOR WOULD BE PERFECT.

DOES ANYBODY AGREE WITH ME THAT IF THERE IS NOT A BADASS BATTLE BETWEEN THOR AND THE HULK IN THE AVENGERS ITS GOING TO PISS US THE F%#K OFF. AND IM NOT TALKING ABOUT A FEW HITS I WANT TO SEE ABOUT 2 MINUTES OF 2 CRAZY ASSES TRYING TO DESTROY EACH OTHER. IF THEY DO THAT THE MOVIE WILL BE AN EPIC WIN GARANTEED. I WANT TO SEE THE OTHER AVENGERS ON THE SIDELINE LOOKING AT EACH OTHER LIKE HOW ARE WE GOING TO STOP THESE 2. AND THE HULK HAS TO SEPERATE THOR FROM HIS HAMMER AND TRY TO PICK IT UP AND NOT BE ABLE TO.

Yeah Thorion, I was hearing today in my cinema class that the main definition of good movies is norse gods and big green guys beating the crap out of each other and trying to pick things up.

@ THORION76

it would be a crime if thor & the hulk didn't clash,bit like colossus & juggernaunt in x-men 3 was a waste,but i don't think it'll ruin the movie if they didn't.

I'm with you THORION. I want to see at least 3 kick ass fights in this movie, if not more. And I mean fights that crap gets destroyed, lightning flies out of every orifice and aliens get their blocks literally knocked off. And woe to the director if he makes Thor barely stronger than your average super-hero, he is a God for Gods sake.
niknik
niknik - 9/15/2011, 8:56 PM
Anything would be better than the 60 second battle Thor had with the Destroyer. That could have been sooooo epic and the destroyer looked the part, yet all we got was 60 seconds and done.

If Whedon pulls the same $hit with the Avengers/Hulk battle I will walk the F out of the theater.
