Says series writer Rick Remender of Cassady's superb work..

"John's pages have been classic examples of his work. He's a great storyteller and he's also a tremendous illustrator. Plus, you've seen him do legendary stuff with Captain America and the X-Men. So he's had really important runs with both of these characters and it feels right and natural that John be the guy to do this book given his connection to both sides. Plus, he's John Cassaday! He's amazing! So this stuff has got tremendously exciting illustrations, but never at the expense of storytelling."

Loos great.

I wonder why Havok is blasting Steve into the air in that one panel. Interesting to say the least.

Looks good I guess...I've always hated the way Cassaday does the mask and mail though.

I really hate the classic cap suit. The scales, the wings, when they have exposed ears, the whole nine. If the Avengers suit had a coth cowl or even a mostly cloth cowl with a rigid face piece it would be perfect IMO but until the MCU i honestly hated Cap so im prbably jus drawing from what im most familiar wth

SN: I like how Marvel is dragging out AvX. Instead of getting the last issue in Sept, the last issue is in Oct.

Really hate cap's helmet. Makes him look like Chris Evans which isn't a good thing.

he's got a very Chris Evans feel in that close up of cap.

Shouldn't Caps shield absorb the energy because of the vibranium? Every time I see Cap flying after getting hit on his shield I wonder why he's doing that. Hmmm, Im sure someone would say he's already in the air and not grounded, just like in the Avengers movie. Okay, I'll accept that. Carry on.

Boy, do I hate dragon scales..

And this is the problem with the helmet, just like in the movie, it doesn't cover enough of his cheeks(why does it sound wrong?...)

Thor's helmet also seems inspired by the movie one, even though he almost didn't wear it.

@MarvelWeiner How is that Whedon's fault? Marvel chooses how the characters look or if they want to model them after their movie counterpart. They've been doing this since Daredevil came out.

Cassaday is awesome. I wish Epting drew it though. To me, everyone else will be compared to his amazing run on Cap.

I expect better from Cassaday, and if none of you have noticed, those buildings are clearly photos throw in. He didn't draw any of those buildings.
