COMICS: Gambit And Quicksilver Get Redesigned Costumes For Peter David's ALL-NEW X-FACTOR

X-Factor are getting a corporate makeover next year, when Polaris, Quicksilver and Gambit are headhunted by the mysterious Serval Industries to lead a corporate-funded super team. Hit the jump for details on All-New X-Factor from Peter David and Carmine Di Giandomenico!

As you can see from the cover artwork below, Gambit, Polaris and Quicksilver (along with other unrevealed members) will be getting a very different look for the "All-New Marvel NOW!" series. However, if you're a fan of the previous iteration, don't panic; it WILL still be written by Peter David. However, All-New X-Factor will deal with Jamie Madrox's decision to sell the "X-Factor" name to Serval Industries and their plans for a corporate funded team of mutants. Below, David discusses the series and the cast members who have so far been revealed. What do you think?

"So much of what happens in this country stems from corporate control and involvement. So why not expand that real world philosophy to the world of comics and have it be that a corporation is interested in expanding into super heroes? I mean, if super heroes really existed, that's probably what would happen. [Polaris] has the most potential. Which isn't to say that others from the previous title might not show up as guest cast. With Quicksilver, we're left wondering what his motivation is. Is he really motivated by brotherly concern over Polaris? Or is there more going on? And Gambit as a professional thief is there to be the one who questions everything that's going on; he's largely the reader's voice into the book."

I really like these too along with the new X-Men uniforms. It seems that the artist have been inspired by the anime style on these redesigns. It looks worth a look for sure.

Huh. I can't say I like the look, but it's Peter David and X-Factor, so I'm sold. If any writer could make Gambit interesting it's him. Oh, shut up Gambit fans - he's all style no substance and you know it. I loved him too, when I was 13. Maybe someday he'll get a costume that doesn't suck.

Glad David is back. Here are a few questions and comments:

1) The art looks pretty nice... the yellow costumes with black and gray accents are kind of cool.
2) Polaris' costume is a bit subdued and a bit of a regression for the character.**
3) Are the 2 behind Gambit, Guido and Multiple Man?
4) So Gambit, Polaris and Quicksilver will now be isolated from and no longer be involved in any other X-related storylines and crossovers?

"he's all style no substance and you know it."

True. Very true. But Asmus made Gambit's run one of the best of the Marvel NOW bullshit, second to Thor God of Thunder.

Sadly, how generic can you get??

Also, I love Xmenand love Gambit but he has been on the sideline WAY too long and this isn't helping.

Is Polaris actually officially Magnetos daughter im sure there was loads of strange stuff around that?

And when I first saw this today I thought that was gonna be Speed instead of Quicksilver.

Now thats a series I'd like to see Quicksliver and Speed - The fastest uncle and nephew on earth.

FYI it's not a cheetah on the uniforms. It's a serval, a type of large cat. Hence the name of the company.

Can't wait. Don't know why they just had to end X Factor. Wasn't it Marvel's longest running book after Marvel Now?

I kind of liked back in the day when X-Factor was the Government's mutant team (back with Val Cooper and Havok) and everyone got matching team suits except Quicksilver who still sported his classic blues and whites because he simply thought the concept of matching outfits was stupid.

seems like nothing last more than 1.5 years before a total reboot....
like reality shows....throw 100 shows out and hope that 5 are a success.

I miss the old days of comics. books made it into the Hundreds....

glad peter david is writing this. will definitely have to check it out. loved the madrox years and thought it would have made a great tv show, especially the fact that the team seemed to come across the entire marvel universe at one time or another

I'm not really liking Gambit's new suit. And him going along with being contracted by a corporation seems out of character.

Unless, the money is really good, which it probably is.

And they really need to do a great X-Factor movie (even tho I do want a X-Force movie first). An X-Factor movie would be a different style for FOX to do.

@Alfredo Reread my comment. Money aside, Gambit likes doing his own thing, so it's surprising to me he would work for a corporation.

That's what I was saying.
