Plus if the Avengers are getting Thor back, shouldn't the Phoenix force fall back to the X-Men (where if belongs). Besides I'm really like to know who is gonna really end up with the Phoenix force (for the long haul)

@AlcoholicA: There's really no reason for the Phoenix Force to return to the X Men, just because of Thor's presense.

If you're saying that out of a sense for 'balance' amongst the two teams, technically speaking, the Phoenix Force has been out of the game for a good while. So if an X Man does get it, then the Avengers have full right to bring up some reserve Avengers for the assist :) Someone get Quasar, Nova and Beta Ray Bill on the phone!

It says in the Synopsis above that Iron Fist discovers that he has a connection with the Phoenix Force, not simply just some random host if it, so I doubt it's not JUST a cover for show.

The Phoenix is the Energy that resulted in the Creation of the Universe. It first appeared at the Same time as the Big Bang.......

Iron Fist is quite in-tune with the universe. I also hope this push to the Spotlight is because a Film Announcement is coming soon.

I see what you're saying but that just doesn't sell me on anything yet. Hype. For all we know one of the previous Iron Fist from 1000 years ago said "hi" to someone with the Phoenix force, lol. I put as much faith in that synopsis as when I read "....for their FINAL battle!"

I really like Iron Fist and am glad to see him get this big push (to steal a term from pro wrestling) But i fear this will break the seal on the phoenix. much like how superman broke the seal on death in the 90's - now it's wide open for characters to die and come back and it's all just part of the comic lexicon ... i fear we'll see 10 people host the phoenix force in the next 20 years.

That being said Iron Fist was a great and unpredictable choice for a host.

It's cool as hell and tempting but I'd have to agree with AlchoholicA, I'd bet the house on Hope getting the PF. But then again, I could also see IF as a caretaker of the PF until Hope is ready for it.

It wasn't but about 6 months ago that WOLVERINE got the Phoenix force in the miniseries "Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine" That to me was a representation of everything you could do wrong.

AlcoholicA@ yeah man, i havent kept up much with the monthly stuff ever since Siege. I'm glad i missed that one... seems like rash decisions are made all too often in this business that chip away at the importance of actual significant events.

Phoenix Force is badass, and it's ok to have a different host, but just make it MEAN SOMETHING...

Iron Fist with the Phoenix Force, wouldn't be much different then he was that with the Dragon Force except maybe a little stronger.

And why does it always go to the heroes? Why can't a villain have it? I'd like to see how that'd go down.

We want Danny to whip a little ass with some Phoenix Force! Or...maybe they create an Earthen born Yin to the Phoenix's Yang, so to speak. Either way, I'm down.

Wait, didn't Hope have the Pheonix Force? I must have missed her losing it.... Is there any point to the whole Av vs. X??? I though it was all about Hope having the Pheonix Force.... Doesn't this spoil the whole plot line for messiah complex and following x stories???

This is what Marvel needs to do, make a stand alone Luke Cage film and a stand alone Iron Fist film. Each hero to cameo in each others movie for the last five minutes, those last five minutes need to tie in both those stories together with some crazy to be continued ending which leads into a Heroes for Hire movie.
