COMICS: MARVEL Announces New DEADPOOL: KILLUSTRATED Miniseries

Cullen Bunn has the writing duties and Matteo Lolli provides the art, but where can a direct sequel to DEADPOOL VS. THE MARVEL UNIVERSE really go, storywise? It's wordplay against gunplay and witty prose vs. killing blows as the heroes of classic literature face off with everyone's favorite Merc With a Mouth...

Writer Cullen Bunn sat down with comicbookresources.com today to discuss his upcoming miniseries, DEADPOOL: KILLUSTRATED. Here's what he had to say about the project:

"DEADPOOL: KILLUSTRATED picks up where (DEADPOOL VS. THE MARVEL UNIVERSE) left off. Deadpool has traveled to a number of alternate Earths. He's killed the heroes of the Marvel Universe over and over again -- and he sees no end in sight. He's looking for a way to shortcut the slaughter, to annihilate the entire multiverse all at once. This is when he learns of the Ideaverse, a place where all the stories of classic literature are unfolding -- and he gets the devious idea that he could destroy these characters so that the characters of the Marvel Universe would never exist in the first place.

(The Ideaverse) is the place where the stories and characters that inspired the stories and characters of the Marvel Universe exist. Deadpool believes that if he can destroy them, he can retroactively destroy the characters and stories they inspire. Deadpool's able to move in and out of different timelines and worlds to do his dirty work, but he'll find that his presence in the Ideaverse may be having an adverse effect.

As for the characters he'll encounter, I thought a lot about the tales of classic literature that mean a lot to me -- and I thought about how to ruin them. I also tried to think about how those classic characters might correlate to the Marvel characters Deadpool's trying to kill.

Characters he'll encounter might include Moby Dick, Sherlock Holmes, Beowulf, and Don Quixote, among others. In every issue, Deadpool will be running into a few different characters, and I don't want to spoil some of the surprises."

DEADPOOL: KILLUSTRATED hits store shelves in 2013.

Yes I haven't read this but I still find it hard to get excited about this "wacky" idea. I never really took it as he knows he's in a comic book but acts like he is because he's crazy. Marvel is missing the mark on this one.
Daniel Tosh for Deadpool!

"I never really took it as he knows he's in a comic book but acts like he is because he's crazy."

He knows he's in a comic book BECAUSE he's crazy in the comic book, which then might mean that he is real and "trapped" in the comic book.

But yeah, Marvel doesn't seem to understand Deadpool either.

Daniel Tosh is a bad idea. I won't insult or call-names, but please just think about that decision for a while.

^I have.
I don't want to resort to name calling either but have you ever seen his physical comedy towards his staff? Side splitting. When he's hyper and on a roll Tosh is insane. Add muscle and boom.
@toco How does that make sense? You're saying that he's real and in a comic book, so he acts crazy because he knows it. That's stupid.
The idea that he's insane enough to take nothing seriously except for his moments of clarity in my opinion is way way better.

I don't know what you read, but it wasn't what I wrote.
