The latest teaser in Marvel's "This Is WAR" campaign features an unconscious Spider-Man at gunpoint and Black Widow in the cross hairs. Rumour has it that these are all building up to the reveal of Brian Michael Bendis and Bryan Hitch's "Ultron War" storyline.

I think comic book writers are trying to stay ahead of the movie curve by having more compelling and interesting stories. This way the movies can be based on THESE comics and still make sense. kind of like a pure blend, which i like...

Does MJ get sniped this time and he goes back to Mephisto to sacrifice Aunt May? I'd be OK with that.

I'm thinking Winter Soldier maybe. Idk. They've foreshadowed both the Ultron stuff that Bucky doing something that makes everyone hate him in The Avengers. Bucky's my favorite character so I'm wondering wtf is going on. But who knows?

How inventive. Bring all of the Marvel heroes together to fight a common foe. Creating moral dilemmas for our favorite characters, killing off (but eventually bringing back) a popular member of the Marvel universe. Say it ain't so. I have never heard of such a storyline! This is going to be BIG!
I don't think anyone will ever be able to create this kind of magic and unity amongst fans ever again.

Wonder if it's going to be Fury's kid declaring war on the Avengers...

AvX will definitely have a part to play in this. You can't have Avengers n XMen fighting over control of THE ENTIRE WORLD without civilians getting in a huff about it.

PS-clues are pointing to Hope borrowing powers of both Iron Fist + Scarlet Witch to stop/control the Phoenix, when all's said and done.

It's not Punisher or Winter Soldier or anyone specific, it's the worlds governments and military.

Looking at Spidey's cover I tend to wonder if this is finally an all out assualt from the Marvel Unvierse's villains. or if it is this 'Age of Ultron' thing, maybe Ultron gives the bad guys a hand up over the world's heroes and it soon becomes clear to our heroes that simply incarcerating or containing villains won't be enough, but that they are out for blood and that they must now be open to fighting these villains to the death, thus making it an all out war for survival where hero or villain could be killed...
