COMICS: Marvel Reportedly Planning Big Cosmic Crossover Event This Summer

The folks over at Bleeding Cool report that Marvel Comics are planning a "big cosmic crossover event" which will run until late summer. According to the site, the event will begin in Nova #1 (which hits stores next month), and will be developed in Brian Michael Bendis' Guardians Of The Galaxy and the recently announced miniseries Thanos Rising from Jason Aaron (which begins this April), as well as possibly Kieron Gillen's Iron Man series. It will follow Bendis' Age Of Ultron event, and Bleeding Cool describes it as "all encompassingly cosmic, on an Avengers Vs. X-Men scale." The site also says that the event will "probably" be written by Bendis, but there's no word on who will be tackling art duties. Stat tuned to CBM for more details on this crossover event.

Hopefully it will be a good story. I know Avengers VS X-Men made alot of money but it was complete crap!

Marvel planning another crossover?

That's my surprise face because I'm shocked and chagrined. An event is so rare for them -_-

Yeah avengers vs x-men was awful. Very little interest in this, the only good marvel title i've read recently is All New X-Men, and even that is beginning to lose me.

@Nick56 Might I suggest all Xmen titles, Thor, Uncanny Avengers, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, Captain Marvel and Captain America. All good books coming from Marvel.

I compleatly agree with you. When Long Halloween came out some looked at him like a new Alan Moore was born. I like exactly what you listed and for me he destroied ( for me) the Ultimates franchiese.
I think Nova cuold be a good read, not great but good, but now Marvel has such writer like Hickman and Remender.

A pity that Jim Starlin is not involved in any Thanos project but I understand that they wanted a now POV beside Starlin and DnA

Comic book events should result from a desire to tell a great story, not from the desire to time it with an upcoming movie in an attempt to boost ticket sales.

I'm interested since I'm madly in love with Marvel's cosmic universe. But I doubt this crossover will match the epicness of the Thanos Imperative.

I'm completely sure Loeb hates Marvel and is hellbent on destroying everything good they ever had.

I hope this event is something to talk about. Siege, Avengers vs. X-men, Doom War,Shadow Land and Fear Itself were all wack. Civil War, Planet Hulk, and World War Hulk were the last great "events". I'll be checking it out.

Loeb's work at DC is really awesome. Love it all.
But at Marvel it's shit.

Marvel is really letting me down on a daily basis. I suppose I should be thankful I'm smart and patient enough to wait until TPBs and do plenty of online previews every friday to get a grasp of art and story beyond the solicitations. But seriously, why are so many all up on Bendis' Johnny (i know, it sounds silly but I just watched Eden Of The East and it was so adorably PG).

Well, hopefully it's good... but with Bendis writing it... I'm sort of unsure. IDK I still liked Marvel best in the late 80's early 00's era.

Still Bendis is doing good work on All New X-men, I really like the "young" X-men characters, sadly I know they will have to get mind wiped sooner or later and sent to their past.

AVX was ...not horrible! It just didnt live up to its potential. They could've did everything in 4 to 5 books thats just how much depth it lacked! I see this as being much better, and hopefully much more thought out!
