Last week at the Diamond’s Retailer Summit in Las Vegas, Marvel teased Time Runs Out, Jonathan Hickman's Avengers/New Avengers crossover this coming September, and today officially revealed some details and cover art. "After the cataclysmic events of the Avengers tie-in to Original Sin and the revelation as to what the Illuminati has been up to all this time, we jump the storyline ahead to the moment where time runs out for everybody," revealed Tom Brevoort, Marvel Senior VP. They'll jump ahead eight months, with both teams getting a bit of a shake-up, as seen on the covers of Avengers #35 by Jim Cheung, and New Avengers #24 by Gabriele Dell'Otto.
It acts as the climax of Hickman's run on both titles, which has all been leading toward "the day of the Final Incursion." Brevoort explained that "we’ll also be providing a glimpse into the immediate future of our characters and what changes await them over the course of the next eight months of publishing. This isn’t some maybe-future; this is the real deal, what’s awaiting the Marvel Universe in the coming year." That last comment may be seen as a bit of a jibe at DC's Futures End, but they do seem a little similar. What do you think the future holds for the Avengers and the Marvel U?
