COMICS: Marvel Spoils SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN Ending/AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Status Quo?

Marvel have released a couple of new teaser images for Original Sin, but the blurb which accompanies the cover featuring Peter Parker may reveal the outcome of Superior Spider-Man and the status quo of Amazing Spider-Man. Those of you hoping Otto Octavius is gone for good may be disappointed...

A lot of fans suspected that Marvel and writer Dan Slott wouldn't be getting rid of Otto Octavius at the conclusion of Superior Spider-Man, and it appears as if that has been confirmed in a new piece on Original Sin over at Marvel.com. While talking about Spider-Man being one of the suspects in the hunt for the murderer of The Watcher, the site adds: "Does Otto Octavius have enough of a hold on Spider-Man that he could have committed the deadly deed?" It sounds as if the newly resurrected Peter Parker will still be sharing a body with Doctor Octopus, presumably in the same way that a part of Peter's consciousness has been trapped in Otto's mind. It's worth noting that the solicitation for issue #2 of Amazing Spider-Man states, "That thing that freaked you out last issue? There’s more on that. The return of you-know-who? There’s MUCH more on that." So, will the villain be fighting for control, influencing Peter, or working with him? Regardless of which it is, it's unlikely to please fans who were looking forward to REALLY having the Amazing Spider-Man back. What do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts on this news in the usual place!
