COMICS: Marvel Teases "All-New, All-Different" AVENGERS

With Avengers and New Avengers ending to move into Secret Wars (much like how Uncanny Avengers ended before AXIS), Marvel have very vaguely teased their plans for Earth's Mightiest Heroes in May 2015. Hit the jump to check it out.

Jonathan Hickman's Avengers and New Avengers is coming to an end in April, with the books paving the way for Hickman's massive Secret Wars event starting in May. Though many assumed relaunches would be on the way, Marvel Editor Tom Brevoort told Newsarama that there won't be an Avengers or New Avengers series on shelves either in May or June. That makes today's teaser image from Marvel all the more curious: the "all-new, all different" Avengers are set to arrive in May. Whether this is a new book starring Earth's Mightiest Heroes, or a tie-in to Secret Wars, or both, remains to be seen. What do you guys make of this?

Keep going. Please.

People who want this to stop are d-bags who haven't read Hickman's Avengers/New Avengers/Infinity run.

So actually read what is going on before you open your stupid mouth.

I read all the Avengers books and I still want them to stop with this "All New All Different" crap and starting series over at issue #1 every couple of years.
people calling other d-bags online when they know NOTHING about these people should shut their stupid mouth.

The Avengers books have been good, but Marvel needs to stop these constant revamps. Just because you remove or add team members does not mean you have to start the series over at #1 again. Marvel, you are making it a pain in the ass for us comic book collectors to sort our comics.

So here we go again with the "oh no they're relaunching again" debate. Let me speak from experience here and say that these "awful" relaunches are the reason I got into comics. It allowed me to jump into a comic and read from the start. And since then I've been reading comics! So as far as I know, keep relaunching because it could bring in many potential readers who are waiting for a jumping on point.

These constant revamps are why I stopped reading Marvel after Dark Reign. I mean DC is really bad about constantly rebooting their universe, but honestly that's what Marvel needs right now. Just reset everything back to square one, so you can tell the kind of stories you obviously want to tell.

It seems like every other week I'm hearing about an "All-New" thing from Marvel. I'm assuming when they decide to fully reboot they'll push all the books to be more in line with the MCU, as we've already seen from recent changes.

Tars- that's the only reason i dont want a reboot, because i feel everything will be made to be like the mcu otherwise i think they do need a reboot.

great another "All--New" gimmick. Please just stop. it's like Marvel can't wait to launch a new #1
ekrolo2
ekrolo2 - 1/16/2015, 4:31 PM
DC reboots once every 25 years, and no, Zero Hour, Final Crisis (least of all that one) and Infinite Crisis were not reboots at all. They just retconned some story-line that were causing continuity issues and nothing else.
ekrolo2
ekrolo2 - 1/16/2015, 4:32 PM
So yeah, I don't get why everyone complains that DC "constantly" reboots when its not true, besides, 25 years in comic time is a LOT and there's gonna be a lot of shit to axe by that point so why not reboot?

I always try to be neutral but it's ridiculous how on most titles Marvel can't go 20 issues without a relaunch or a new gimmick

So you don't know yet. Instead of jumping to conclusions just wait and see. Also do you care cause you were reading Avengers comics?

@ABetterTomorrow

And if you already know please do tell who is in the new lineup? Also they never said QS and SW weren't mutants anymore in the comics. And their "origin" was a retcon to begin with anyway.

Demiurge
Demiurge - 1/16/2015, 10:28 PM
And it's back to number one ! Lol, seriously, Marvel keeps doing this because they know they'll roll out more issues by renumbering. I've stopped reading Avengers since Infinity so I don't really mind, but for guys still reading out there it must sometimes feel like a gimmick.
But we really shouldn't be surprised.
