It is not a hidden fact by today that Bucky Barnes has found his end in the hands of Sin (in her Skadi form) during the events of the Fear Itself storyline, and it seems that this has been established by the release of the 7.1 issue of the title which features a special memorial to the former sidekick of Captain America. However, as a teaser was released some times before today, there's a hint that the Winter Soldier - or at least another person taking up the mantle - is still active! With a thanks to a Bleeding Cool, check out a further report regarding an announcing advertisement found at the back of Fear Itself #7.1 below:

Today Fear Itself #7.1 is published. Which features the memorial service for Bucky Barnes – Captain America’s sidekick in the war, who was revived as Soviet weapon The Winter Soldier and then became Captain America when the original was thought dead. During the issue you discover that the Winter Soldier identity, at least, is alive and kicking. And at the back there is an ad for a new Marvel ongoing series by Ed Bubaker and Butch Guice starting next year, The Winter Soldier. But who will be taking on the identity, the costume and the guns, well, you’ll have to read the comic to find out.

Could Bucky Barnes still be alive after all, or is this Winter Soldier an all-new character? We could just wait for the book to be released next year to find out, but sound off your thoughts below as usual!
