Comic Book Resources have spotted the following blog post from Chris Bachalo, confirming that he and writer Brian Michael Bendis will be teaming up next February for a relaunched "Marvel NOW!" series of Uncanny X-Men. As you can see from the image below, the cast will include Cyclops, Magneto and possibly either Emma Frost or Magik (though it's fair to assume that both of them will be a part of the team regardless). Check out the artwork and statement below and then feel free to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place! Stay tuned for the full reveal soon...

Looks like the cats out of the bag. Its me an Bendis on a new launch of the series. This was a tough one as I was really enjoying my time on WX but Brian asked for me to help him launch the new Uncanny and how do you turn down that offer. Launches are tough as there's a lot of ground to cover to get things rolling. Characters are re-imagined, writing styles adjusted to, locations established. Its a tough learning curve that typically takes a few issues to figure out and grow comfortable with. We're still very early into the creative part so hard for me to comment on exactly what to expect. The daring part is that the tone of the book--feels like, its early--will be a little darker. Characters powers have been 'adjusted" as a result of the Phoenix five fall out and I was asked to redesign costumes for the entire cast. Everyone. Plus, as of today, there are two "new" mutants. Its a big jump that I'm sure will turn a few off but, we're betting on, that most will welcome and enjoy. One thing that you can count on is that Brian will always give you something worth reading. He never fails to be interesting. Launch is two issues in February.

I'm diggin' that new magneto helm.

@KamenRider yeah, that definitely looks a bit recycled from Onslaught, but at least they recycled a cool look.

I'm thinking I'm just gonna wait for this, instead of picking up All-New X-Men.

I think the cyclops mask is pretty cool since now it is more like a cyclops. The "tron" outfit is kinda not good. He should have calico cat on his uniform.

I don't really like the costumes, but whatever. As long as they keep the "Cyclops is right" undertone that was established in AvX: Consequences then I'll likely read this.

It's Magic. it's basically the Phoenix 5 minus Collosus as he's with Cable's X-force, so still a fugitive. And while the official sanctioned group is out being the face of mutant/human relations and being heroes along side the Uncanny Avengers, this team will be in the shadows but still doing good.

That has to be the shittest design for Cyclops they have ever came up with...EVER.At least this new helmet has got to go. There was nothing wrong with his Navy/Gold costume. That being said, I'm ready for this book.

Regardless of the costumes you gotta get the writing under control. If the mutant population is really taking a step back in term of world love, I really hope Cyke leads this team and does some good while Logan is babysitting.

Also I hope they reference some of the amazing things the happened in AvsX in terms of world betterment. The bombs destroyed, the sustainable food and water and the free energy for all. I mean they DID accomplish that before the fallout

Not that big of an X-men fan, They have a lot of crazy convoluted continuity issues since long back. However I do find the shift of Cyke to be an interesting one. Its rare for a hero to become the villain. Maybe this is going to be like when Reed Richards in the Ultimate universe went mad with power. In a sense this is a rare case of actual character growth and development for a character that has been around since the 60s. I'm sure a lot of X-men fans aren't pleased by how he was handled by the events of Avengers Vs X-men, but he did change, for better or worse.

also...how will his eye beams work with a giant X on his face. will it shoot out in the form of an X or will it be just regular old eye beaming

AoA was definantly my favorite design for Scott followed by his 80s look with the bellbottoms and fat visor John Byrne used to draw
