Meanwhile, the cover to Avengers #25 pits Captain America against Cyclops and also marks the debut of legendary artist Walt Simonson on the Briam Michael Bendis penned series.

Tough call. They can both move, they both have projectile capabilities... That seems like a fitting thing to say, considering the post directly above mine.

Iceman's abilities a bit more diverse I think (even if they are all ice based), but Spider-man is physically his superior in the strength, speed, agility, and endurance department. Not to mention Spider sense. I have no idea, but I vote Spidey for the win.

He is omega class, but when we say "strong", what do we mean exactly? Strong as in being able to lift thousands upon thousands of pounds, or strong as in he can do crazy things with his powers, like become water or some other ridiculous but cool thing?

Spidey is very well known for using elaborate ways of winning against opponents that greatly outclass him. I could see Spider-Man vs Iceman going either way IMO.

Captain America vs Cyclops: i honestly would like to see Cap win because I hate Cyclops. I'm sure Cap is not gonna be stupid enough to throw his shield at Cykes and not think it's a definite KO. he'll more than likely shield himself until he gets close enough and knocks Cyclops out.

spidey vs, iceman is a tough one im really not sure.

@sagemode- i honestly think cyke has the advantage cause he is marvels best tactical mind and is also just as good of a hand to hand combatant. but i think the writers will make cap win.

Yes, you guys above are correct....ICEMAN is OMEGA LEVEL, capable of destroying the planet....SPIDER-MAN vs ICEMAN?!?! You've got to be kidding.

SPIDEY will win the poll tho, cuz most everyone who votes views it as a popularity contest...

...either that or the voters are just posers who don't actually read comics. :-/

Iceman is an OMEGA Level Mutant. Omega Level! He can just freeze the air around Spidey so he can't breathe. This is like Storm vs Thor.

Also, Cap destroys Cyk. Superior strength, speed, agility, stamina and a shield to negate Cyk's one advantage.

Iceman is an Omega Level mutant that has yet to tap into his full potential!!!

So unless he has a pretty massive epiphany during their fight it'll be pretty even match...but Spidey's spider sense does give him an edge...

Lets not forget Spidey has taken on much larger opponents and won before...

Yes Iceman is an Omega Level mutant and there are thoughts that he is basically immortal.

But you never know which Iceman will show up. Hell, he suppressed his own powers after M-day just bc he is basically emo.

IF Iceman has "one of those days" where that potential comes out (like when Emma had control of his powers or like recent AoA Iceman in UXF or like recent Iceman at the new school where he made clones of himself) then Spidey would be obliterated. But that iceman comes out like once a year.

Iceman is an omega level mutant and probably COULD kill Spider-man (and a large portion of the Earth's population for that matter) with some big dramatic display of power, but does anyone hear REALLY think that he would actually DO IT!? Just because a character CAN do something doesn't mean they will. Iceman isn't going to destroy the Earth's ecosystem just to get Spider-man. He's going to try to freeze him or throw stuff at him. Spider-man's powers make him the best person for dodging just about any kind of ranged attack. Plus Spider-man is a GENIUS who is very good at creative problem solving.

Spider-Man would just dodge every projectile Iceman threw at him, break any ice with ease because of his super strength, and then punch Iceman and knock him out.

Theres no way for spidey to hurt iceman, he can reconstitute himself from water vapor! but I hate both so I hope thor kills storm, kills spidey in a variety of ways, and then shatters iceman and disintegrates with lightning
