All the people complaining about Nova are old purists. Yeah Rider was the first, but things change for goodness sake! I wonder if people were like this when Dick Grayson took over as Batman or Bucky took over as Cap. Sure Bruce and Steve came back, but gosh. Nova is Sam Alexander now. That's how it is. Get over it. And while I feel the same way about SpiderOck, he's a massive prick in this issue so I resent that statement.

Everything here is absolutely retarded. "Superior" Spidey has an inferiority complex (disguised as superiority), Nova's amateurish, "hurr durr I'm a civilian and I need saving, durrrr," and Ock's reluctance to save them. He is not a hero, he is just a douche running around in primary colors. If you guys like SpOck, fine, but he should be in his own book separate from Peter Parker's Spidey. There is no legitimate reason that Peter has to be dead for SpOck to exist.

Meh I personally prefer Superior Spider-man to Amazing. When they finally do bring Peter Back I'll most likely stop reading Spider-man again. Peter is boring. Just my opinion of course.

I like the new Nova suit, but hate Sam. It's not because he's not the old Nova. It's because he just sucks. I don't like his personality or much of his backstory. It didn't help him that Jeph Loeb created him and wrote his first arc. I love Zeb Wells and the banter on these pages, though.

Of course, like breakUbatman said, why didn't those a-holes make any effort to save themselves?

the new nova appeals to comics' primary readership, namely younger teenage boys. its the same appeal that peter parker had once, just let another generation play with your toys you snaggle toothed group of only children.
same goes for Spiderman. its a story. a colourful story with pretty pictures. dont take it so seriously. peter will be back some day so why not read where they take this story, see how it effects the world, and finally, how it will effect Pete upon his return.

The Superior Spider-Man is so one note its laughable - Parker was funny, but also had lots of layers and idiosyncrasies. Otto's default state is 'look at me, I'm better than everyone else.'
