this title never needed a "breathing of life" b/c God Of Thunder was AMAZING, the entire series (1-25) was! But the introduction of this new character is pretty refreshing. She's written sort of with two personalities/Identities like Donald Blake and Thor which is fun

and nah, ive got a feeling her identity will be revealed around issue 5 or 6

@ xcan

They are doing the same shit that they've done before Falcon taking over for cap is nothing new. Rhodey became Ironman when tony was too drunk to do shit. Bucky took over for Cap after he died. This has nothing to do with diversity for the sake of diversity is just an evolution of the stories with characters that just happen to not be white.

What they're doing with Thor right now is what they SHOULD have done with Nova. Stupid kid will never be anything more than a poor replacement for Richard Rider.

It's really sad to see (true)Thor's name reduced simply to "Odinson" on the Avengers comic roster page. :(

Shouldn't be called Thor though, they should have titled the book God of Thunder.

Thor is his name not his title

it's like having a new Sorcerer Supreme and calling him/her Dr. Strange

@demongod20 it's diversity for the sake of diversity. I don't remember them announcing either of those on any talk shows, especially the View. Instead of creating a new powerful female character they are making a statement where one was not needed.

I agree with BreakUbatman. I could understand why the book could be called THOR due to the hammer's allegiance to this woman, but only if this story's end is to eventually give the power back to the actual THOR. By the way, why is Malekith female too? Is this just a universe of gender reversal?

Why couldn't we have gotten this Malekith in TDW??

I'm now thinking its that SHIELD chick who everyone thought was fooling around with Thor (for the fact that she said she met the Roxxon guy before). She dealt with him face to face with Thor.
TelaVizion
TelaVizion - 11/13/2014, 6:11 AM
That Roxxon guy needs to die already too. I wonder if he does during this time period, or will it be Thor that decides to get smart and finally kill him.

TelaVizion - 11/13/2014, 6:14 AM
And why are some of you acting like you don't know Thor becomes worthy again? As if you never saw Old Thor with Mjolnir and the missing arm.

TelaVizion - 11/13/2014, 6:17 AM
Also it's pretty damn cool that Mjolnir cant bust through a Adamantium coated Vibranium door.

Aww...someone else is using Thor's name...

Like that's never been done by both Beta Ray Bill and Eric Masterson...

@demongod20 you seem like a nice enough guy, but you can see that there's a difference, right?

the following is a list of some of the top 'talent' in Marvel comics who used to be white males (recently), but are no longer or are currently sharing the spotlight with someone else:

nick fury, cap - steve rogers, spiderman - Peter Parker, Thor - Odinson

this isn't beta ray bill pulling cosmic Thor duties temporarily or Rhodey helping out a drunken tony or even one of 30 different spider - men. This is a strategic play by Disney to diversify the central comic characters, and the landscape in the laziest, and for me, most insulting way possible (history? What history?)

At the end of the day all this is is foreshadowing for what Thor, Cap and Co. will look like in the MCU in 10 years.

Marvel, you have failed me.

I would like to argue this isn't the villian from "Thor: Dark World." Whoever that clean kept elf guy was is nothing like the Wild Maniac Dark Elf from the comics.
