@thespiderman209

You're right, Anti-Venom is supposed to be no-more, but, well, Thor's there, and he's uh.....dead, so no telling what the hell's happening or what time this is taking place in.

Wonder man refers to their attack as being "earlier today" so I'm guessing this took place the same time at their first appearance. If this is the case Brock was still Anti-Venom and I think Thor was still alive.

Wondy assembled a very dangerous team....not Annihilators, but pretty tough for earthbound folk.

hahah wonder man. hmm looks like more marvel A list heroes vs. more B list heroes and anti-heroes. the concept is cool but it would be better if say thor or a major avenger agreed with wonder-man.

It's odd, as much as I am an Avid Marvel Comic reader, I don't think I've read a single issue or arc with Wonder Man in it, he seems cool, but that name, it's too weird. Whimsical Man isn't to bad, lol.

Always liked Wonderman thought he was a bit underused to be so powerful but this is a good story for him those selfrightious republican......uh I mean Avengers need a good swift kick in the ass.

It seems like they've been doing a lot of superhero vs. superhero stuff since the success of the Civil War storyline. I guess they've determined from the sales that people prefer to watch heroes fight each other. Skrull Invasion was basically superheroes not trusting each other, there was the Avengers vs. X-Men thing, and now this whole thing. What are the villains doing while all this is going down?

Iron Man could dish out deus ex machina move against any scientifically created enemies.

But true, Steve can't do anything except getting help from the bigger guns.

Now Wonder Man is solid, able to fly, and a villain? This is out of character. He's one of very, very few that has returned to being a villain.

That's not normal Wonder Man, he's from an alternate timeline. This story is gonna be good you just got to keep up.

True this makes many question when it takes place considering Anti-venom and Thor are still alive and well. This most likely takes place before the events of Spider-Island which is before Fear Itself as well as prior to Schism. They should make mention as to WHERE and WHEN these events take place. Even in Batman Inc: Leviathan Strikes, they say that these events DO take place before Flashpoint

And Wonder Man has been able to fly for decades......

He has also been able to go back and forth between normal and Ionic form....

And this takes place before all major events this year so Anti-Venom & Thor are alive....

I just hope Thor isn't jobbing again, he needs to kick ass and show some power!

"I'm still rather pissed off about how out-of-character Wonder Man is acting in this story, and how completely flimsy and unconvincing his motivations are. Did Simon just go insane at some point, or does Brian Michael Bendis actually think this is a semi-justifiable point he's making? And even if it was, how does destroying the Tower and repeatedly attacking the Avengers (people he admits do good things for humanity IN THIS PREVIEW) go about solving any of his issues with the team?

This is the thinnest excuse I've ever seen to justify a superhero vs. superhero showdown. I'm usually a B.M.B. fan, but this just seems lazy."

Damn! That is EXACTLY what I was going to say, just not quite so eloquently. Writers these days just seem to throw out any validity to these 180 degree out of character plot mechanism's as if we won't notice. Simon has just suddenly had some sort of life altering epiphany that has turned him 180??? All I can say is: Lazy, lazy, LAZY, SLOPPY.

Oh, and once again the next chapter in a story line comes out 4 months after the last. Nice work Marvel. You're really on top of things there at the House of Ideas.

Wonderman isn't out of character at all. If you go back and read the Avengers books that have him in over the last year or so you can actually see him changing his ideas on the Avengers. Its subtle but its there. This is pretty well written and his mentality is sound, he is right....in a away. The Avengers messed up along the way and it was swept under the rug. He is going overboard but don't we all, I mean my wife needs to be held accountable for not letting her vest friend join us in a "special" vacation. I tore the house down too!

Sorry, but I DO know "dick" about the character. I have a complete Avengers collection. COMPLETE. Since #1. Been reading the title and its various spinoffs since the 60's and am still reading every single issue. I think I know the character thank you.

Wonderman has never been a villain. He started out as being enticed by the Masters of Evil to first join, then betray the Avengers but in fact it was his good character and moral compass that caused him to knowingly sacrifice his own life to save the Avengers way back in issue #9. He has been one of the "good guys" on the team ever since his return back around issue #150, both as an Avenger and as a WCA. This IS completely out of character with the Simon Williams that has been around for the better part of 40 years. This Simon Williams has suddenly over the last couple of tales made an about face and is attacking the only friends and comrades he has ever known, while raving about how "dangerous" the Avengers are. You can't get more out of character than that.
