Kapow! is once again hosting the annual Stan Lee Awards and the list of nominations has been compiled by a variety of expert judges from the world of comics, movies, TV, gaming, publishing and entertainment.

Stan Lee is honoured to have these awards in his name explaining "this is a fantastic platform to reward the cream of comic book talent for all their creativity and imagination".

Those who submitted nominations for The Stan Lee Awards 2011 include Jeffrey Renaud and Brian Cronin from CBR, artist Klaus Janson, director James Gunn, Josh Wilding from Comic Book Movie, Adrian Hieatt from AICN, Iron Man screenwriter Drew Pearce, lettering legend John Workman, Lev Grossman from Time Magazine, John Mosby from Impact magazine, former Marvel and DC editor Jenny Lee, comic journalists Jill Pantozzi, Chris Arrant, Ryan Lindsay, John Barringer, Geeky Girls Love Sci-Fi, as well as former Atomic Comics owner Mike Malve, Richard George from IGN, film journalist Billy Chainsaw, geek journalist Rick Marshall and Simon Brew from Den of Geek.

Nominations will be open until Thursday 12th April. Winners will be announced at The Stan Lee Awards ceremony at Kapow! on Saturday 19th May 2012.

greg capullo would of liked to of seen oliver coipel.

uncanny x-force what no mention of batman,animal man or swamp thing.

rise of the planet of the apes or captain america.

walter simonson's the mighty thor: artist's edition.

the dark angel saga or crimnal lost of innocent.

spider-man or daredevil.

anyone for best newcommer.

marvel.

game of thrones or the walking dead.

batman arkham city but it'll probably go to skyrim.

anyone for man/woman of the year should of had rick remender in this catagory.

Some really good choices were left off these lists. But given what's there...

Best Writer - Scott Snyder
Best Series - Daredevil
Best Superhero or SciFi Movie - Captain America
Best Limited Series or Story Arc - Dark Angel
Best Comic Hero - Batman
Best Publisher - DC (I would have said Marvel if Fear Itself didn't suck and a couple of the New 52 were actually really good)
Best TV Show - The Walking Dead

The rest are either too close to call, or I have no opinion.
